You still need the key to start the Bronco, so I never really understood the point of the keypad entry. To each his own, I suppose. The point of the keypad is so you don't have to have the fob on you to open the door.
That's the whole point: it's supposed to be with you when you are operating or planning to operate your car.The point of the keypad is so you don't have to have the fob on you to open the door.
I'm the same! I've always had my keys and fob on my person, either on my purse, pants pocket or coat pocket! That's the whole point: it's supposed to be with you when you are operating or planning to operate your car.
I've managed to carry a key or fob for my cars for over 54 years now without any major imposition to my life or activities, I don't see what suddenly changed.
most people won't need it, which is why they have made it only in certain lines or a option or not available at all lately. You still need the key to start the Bronco, so I never really understood the point of the keypad entry. To each his own, I suppose.
I miss the one that was in an OBX I had. I only used it a couple of times, but it was nice to have.Sitting in my den @ 8PM in my BVD’s and robe when I realize I forgot something in the car . . . Keypad to the rescue. Could I live without the keypad — sure, but it does come in handy and I use it quite a bit.![]()
I have the keypad on my F150 and love it. I can go tubing without worrying about how to keep the FOB dry. Same with backpacking or hiking. We just leave the key in the truck when we fly overseas and don't worry about losing it on a two-week trip. It's integrated into the door frame a lot better on the F150 than the Bronco Sport. All 2025’s have Ford Intelligent Access (keyless entry), so a keypad is redundant. With the fob in your pocket or purse you just touch the inside of either front door handle and it unlocks. Lock by touching the top of either door handle. The tailgate and rear window unlock by just pressing the button.
That's a very limited replacement for a keypad that you don't have to carry around with you.^^This^^
Very much...this...
Too bad they didn't keep that. Ugly vs elegant.Stevel, Although there are no options for a keyless entry pad integrated in the pillar on the Ford Accessories site, my dealership told me it would work in my 2025 BS OBX (Sasquatch). Although I was skeptical, I had them order it and paid with points. They had it for almost an entire day and decided that they needed both fobs to program it. It still did not work so they messaged Ford. They indicated that the first response was not clear so they had to ask them again. Bottom line, it still doesn't work but it looks very nice. It is going to be removed next week and replaced with my original pillar. I considered the stick-on but since the battery can't be accessed, it will no longer work when the battery dies. So it is a $150 disposable chincy stick-on wireless keypad. Naa, not getting it.

its good for stuff like if the kids forgot something in the car, they don't need your keys to go get it, I use it for when we go paddle boarding or just to the beach. I can lock my keys in the car, hidden of course, and then enjoy my time on the beach or what not and get into my car when I am done with the lock pad code. we also use it for tubing where we will drop one car off down river at the exit point, and lock the keys in it, then use the other car to go to the start and do the same. that way we have a vehicle at both ends
I was not aware that you could lock your key inside the vehicle. With my wife's two Edges and my Ranger, the door automatically unlocked and I got a double beep warning.I have the keypad on my F150 and love it.
