I guess my frustration is the idea that it's okay to tell people that they can't cover it under warranty, and to wait until a TSB is released. Then when the TSB is released, tell people you can't cover it because it's now not under warranty?
Since you alerted the dealership of the issue while it was under warranty, and they told you to wait for a TSB (do you have the service record for this?), I'd be contacting the regional service rep for Ford in your area. Go back to the dealership, and talk to the service manager there. Be polite, and ask for the contact phone number for the regional service rep.

Then explain to the regional service rep (again politely) what you were told to do by the dealership (wait for the TSB).

I'd also be prepared (In your case, I'd insist on it) that you go to the next closest Ford dealership to have the TSB performed when the regional service rep tells you it will be covered. You will win this one.

You'll be happy to know I was quoted $1,000 by the dealership today to fix the issue. To change two brake pads, clips, and bolts. LOL.
This sounds more like a please-take-your-car-somewhere-else price rather than a serious estimate. Either way, it's a shitty way to do business.

It’s typically only covered under the factory warranty 3yr/36month not by any other extended warranty you may have

TSB 24-2348 Moan Noise In The Rear Brakes When Vehicle Is Driven In Reverse

Has that TSB been done? You want to at least get that done before moaning about the brakes (ok that’s a terrible play on words)

That was kind of funny?... Read the TSB carefully, 2nd page, Extended Warranty covers this issue. EW idiots said they didn't need to follow the TSB directives to repair. Lies.. This is a systemic issue. We need solidarity and escalate.

Yep I see that now. I updated my prior post.

Have you had TSB 24-2348 completed? Some say it won’t work so jury is still out on that.

I too have a '21 now with 43k miles. I had the TSB performed a year ago and was told by service that it may or may not solve the issue. After I saw that it didn't solve the issue, I asked my service advisor the next time I was in and he told me to switch to ceramic brakes and that will take care of the issue. So, I'm supposed to pay top dollar for ceramic brakes to fix a ford quality issue? This is the last ford I own. I have an extended warranty to 150k miles plus a service plan through the life of the loan. I haven't had any issues with not performing services on my suv from my dealership. I feel your pain though. I'm probably going to get the ceramic brakes this week but will probably be my last set.

Ford put out 4 TSBs for the rear brake moan, latest is TSB 24-2348 (Oct 2024), some owners report this works but let’s see what happens over time

Can't wait for the TSB-24-2348 repair to be honored by my Ford Extended Warranty.

Literally one of the most infuriating car experiences I've ever had. The complete lack of customer service on this issue was a total shock coming from BMW. But anyways I digress... I eventually solved this either by a combo or like others have said, just bringing in my own pads. See my post back in February:

https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/brake-issue-with-bronco-sport-not-resolved-after-2-tsb-services.13382/#post-221758

I came close to engaging in a screaming argument with the service manager and they still weaseled the Premier Service warranty deductible out of me. Long and the short, the noise is gone. I really think this is getting close to a class action as many people are being charged for what is a clear defect.

I updated to ceramic pads and slotted rotors on the rear about a year ago. I also had the mechanic install the Ford Bushing Kit (1st interation) that was was supposed to eliminate the moan. The update worked for a couple of weeks but it returned slowly, as of yeaterday morning the moan was as bad as it was before I did the update. Yesterday afternoon I had my 3 year brake fluid flush done, I asked the mechanic to clean the rear assembly with brake cleaner to at least get a few days, hopefully weeks of quiet reversing first thing in the morning. It worked this morning but the moan will return for sure. The good thing is ceramic pads generate half the dust of the OEM pads and its easier to clean off the wheels but switching to ceramic pads did not eliminate the moan. If you find a permanent solution better than mine lets us know, that dreaded moan is the only thing I don not like about my BS, other than that it's been a great little SUV.

@V8 Yankee our 21 we had before had the noise and never got resolved. this 24 never had it and i still swapped all pads to ceramic and also installed the damond motorsports caliper bushing replacements. mostly as a preventative thing but also because the factory brakes are pretty bad.

That’s ridiculous! But at least your problem is solved… I hope.

And for what it is worth, switching to ceramic pads will reduce your braking. Metallic or semi metallic produce more dust over ceramic, so if dust is what they say can lead to the moaning, then they would need to explain to me why they (Ford) felt the requirement for metallic pads in the first place.

Yep, my dealership keeps blowing me off on this as well. Every time this TSB is revised and am at the dealer I ask to get it fixed and the service writer spends a minutes on the computer and then tells me the TSB is out of date. I do have the extended warranty, yet the dealership is refusing to do anything.

There is a new TSB out as of Feb 17, TSB # 25-2501. This TSB specifically states, and I quote,

"Issue: Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a moan noise when the vehicle is driven in R in cold weather and/or high humidity. This may be due to the suspension sensitivity of the vehicle.
Action: For vehicles that meet all of the criteria in the Issue and Model statements, follow the Service Procedure to install brake pads with clips and if necessary, install the rear reinforced caliper bushings"

The text in the Action section that I made bold should now require our vehicles to be fixed under this TSB.

To Ford: I know Ford monitors this forum....Ford, you have a lot of unhappy people, you need to make this right and it should not cost us, your customers, anything out of pocket. Ford, I would like to see you jump into this thread and REPLY!
