Spend 4 hours today removing additions I've made over the last 3 years to my wife's rapid red big bend. Removed basket and yakima crossbars. Basket will get a fresh coat of paint. Thinking either just gloss black or the hammered finish metallic from rustoleum. Only thing I left on the car for now is the window vents, mud guards, and windsheild strip. I'll get those before we take it back to the dealership. Please excuse my cluttered garage.

Got a new hood bug deflector already. This one was starting to fade just a bit. So I'll leave it. And the toyo tires are getting swapped to the new Baby Bronco

Upgrading to a 2024 badlands... coming soon

That red is nice, what colour Badlands did you get?

What made you decide to go with the Badlands rather than keep the Outer Banks?

How did those side marker leds hold up?.

What are those white looking Leds things for near the side marker lights.

I really like the red also, wife is over the color though. We’re going with a carbonized metallic grey badlands because mostly I don’t trust the 3 cylinder long term and we need more car than the 1.5l in the big bend.

the side markers held up great no fading of plastic or anything like that.

the other led panels are for footwell ambient lighting under the driver and passenger dash.

Not much new but did buy some stuff. Mostly from harbor freight lol. Got the tire inflator, hitch mounted shackle, 8 foot strap, and a pair of radios. Already had the first aid kit and inverter.

Probably add jumper cables, small ratchet set, and some tire plugs. Maybe some batteries.

Thinking about getting either a bigger tool bag to put everything in, or a De Walt or Milwaukee case to organize the smaller items.

Other than that, I got vinyl wrap delivered today. Still waiting on stuff from hrg, trs, and Levittown.

Has anyone installed molle panels in the cargo area?

Check my post(s) in the “what did you do today” thread and you’ll find pics, etc. of molle panels I put in l/window of cargo area and on driver’s side of console. They’ve worked out well for me so far.
One from HRG, one from JCR.

yeah I'm lookin at the JCR one for the rear hatch since its better priced for the space than just the small rear window. wondering how much you can realistically put on there as far as weight. and how convenient it really is when its overhead. what do you keep on yours?

Go carefully on the rear hatch — I understand there is a weight issue and that the struts won’t take it (or you need to replace with stouter struts). Right now I’ve got a small tool kit, mini-binoculars and a couple “boonie” hats on mine. Seems solid enough to carry more/heavier items, but I’m not testing that out  and space in the window is limiting

Need to get vinyl wrap on the front fairing and get it all back together. Ended up getting this Ridgid box for storing emergency stuff and keeping it somewhat organized for now.

Still got a little more room inside. Probably just organize the sockets better, the tire plugs, and some fuses into the orange case.

I've personally installed both the JCR rear hatch MOLLE and the HRG rear window MOLLE panels so here is a little about my experiences with them.

JCR is a little more involved install but not terrible, its very sturdy and will fit even if you have the cargo management system from factory. You can't really put more than 7ish pounds on them without shock sag, so consider smaller objects with good securing. The biggest issue I've had with them was the medbag I had attached to the panel would hit my head when loading / offloading the trunk, minor annoyance but it's there.

I eventually moved everything I had secured for daily travel to the HRG rear window MOLLE so it's less a daily annoyance. I'd be caution with overloading the HRG MOLLE because it's just self tapping screwed into the plastic and headliner. And the space is limited, but can be effective.

With the regular pouches off the rear hatch and into the side windows, I installed some medium quick fist grips on the rear hatch and use it for items not carried constantly.

Another product to consolidate that I've not personally purchased is the Yucca Rear Seat Molle. I've not really seen reviews or purchased it, but it's good to know all your choices.

p.71 of the 2024 Owners Manual:
"Do not hang anything, for example
a bike rack, from the glass or liftgate. This
could damage the liftgate and its components."
This warning exists in earlier versions of the OM, I believe, but some YouTube media types (I won't call them influencers nor journalists) must have watched Ford's early media releases suggesting it's OK to hang clothing or a wetsuit from the rear hatch handles.

The Cargo Management system is an option when ordering the car, it's not reasonable to install it on a vehicle that was not ordered originally with it unfortunately.

I did some searching and I see what you mean now. I guess I’m going to tint these windows anyways so keeping valuables covered won’t be a huge concern. But it would be nice to have a little bit of a shelf. Hatch Molle sounding better
