COVER FOR REAR WINDOW WIRING

Did a search on here with no luck.

I remember seeing a post about covers for the rear hatch window wiring connections for the heating element.

1 in each upper corner.

I had an issue with the connector bending over and causing 1 coil to get caught between the window and the gasket.

Very hard to see with everything blacked out in that area. Caused a serious water leak into the rear area until I figured it out what was causing it.

Those connectors bend very easily by accidently getting those coiled cords caught on something or when cleaning the inside rear window.

Anyone put these on and have a link so I can purchase them?

Not yet. A piss poor design by Ford. The connector is brass/copper and very fragile.

Should come from the factory with some sort of cover.

I will look on Ebay motors to see if I can find something. The challenge is to figure out what to call it.

looks like it's a little cheaper on Ebay. I prefer Amazon but I ordered it all ready.

After you guys have the covers awhile let us know how well they work out for you. The are no real reviews on Amazon for the link I posted and the FB post on the topic was not too helpful either

As long as they stay attached to the window, they have to help somewhat.

After seeing how flimsy these connections are, it's just piece of mind for me.

I have no idea how it got bent over and caused the leak. Maybe when I cleaned the inside of the window, not really sure. Just be cautious when working around the connections.

We'll see. Ebay says not arriving till next Wednesday.

I love the forum for threads like this. Potential problems I can address for pocket change and would have never noticed until the problem occurred to me. So glad people post their lessons hard learned!

My covers weren't supposed to arrive till next week. Ordered on Thursday and they arrived today, Saturday. Only 2 days going coast to coast.

They are what the ad shows on Ebay. Looks like 3M tape on the back. An adhesion promotor was also enclosed, but I decided not to use it since the heating element is exposed on the window where these attach.

It probably wouldn't have affected the element, but I deferred not to use it.

They fit as advertised. See the attached photos.
