We traded in our 2023 Toyota GR86 for the BS last week. We loved the GR but it was impractical.

I traded in my 2002 F-150 SuperCrew. To downsize. 3 boy’s all grown up didn’t need a big vehicle anymore.

In short Hondas, VW, Nissan, Audi, and numerous BMWs. My last three 2012 BMW 335 5 speed, 2017 BMW M240, 2019 BMW x3 M40 - epic cars but got into trouble so a 4 cyl called me and here I am.

2006 F150 Triton. I still have her she is just in the shop. I was quoted $6k in repairs to get her ready for a road trip, ended up trading in my commuter car 2012 Golf TDI for my new badlands. I am not regretting the badlands though, the get up and go it has with just a turbo 2.0 is insane.

First car was a 2005 Mustang that I learned a lot from working on. Unfortunately the engine overheated real bad and warped, didn't make financial sense to repair and sold it.

Bought a 2014 Focus Hatchback which made more sense as I was doing a lot there and back again to Virginia to spend time with my long distance girlfriend who would become my wife. Never modified the focus, it was fine but was murdered by Kia Soul.

Placed an order on the Bronco Sport and while waiting for it to be built bought a 1969 beetle that my friends and I have been working on to do light offroading with, still have it and still working on it

Don't know which I like more, the '69 Beetle or the Bronco Sport. I had a '69 Beetle. It belonged to a professor of mine. He sold it to me when it dropped a valve. My friend's and I pushed the car into the college laboratory, and I pulled the engine, took inventory of what I needed to rebuild it. Drove down to JC Whitney in Chicago, and bought what I needed: new head, new pistons and cylinder, gasket kit....a full rebuild for about $200.
I drove the car from Chicago to California when I went to grad school. Got T-boned by a Caddy. 'sniffle.'

First time i've seen this thread! Cars are listed in sequence of ownership (and some owned simultaneously)

78 Olds Delta 88 - like driving your living room, this was a really good vehicle. My brother and i both put some HARD miles on this thing and it just kept on truckin'

87 Mustang GT - NOT like driving your living room. Loved this car, hated to trade it in but...... kids came along so, not a hard choice, really.

82 Buick Regal - inherited this (a company car) Comfy. SLOW.. Other than that, absolutely nothing to write home about.

91 Ford Explorer - not a bad, not great. I like the newer ones much better.

92-ish? Ford Taurus (wagon) - meh.. gave up the ghost before 75k miles - not impressed.

99 Land Rover Discovery - SO costly to service/maintain it was frightening. I'll never own another. (someone hit my wife in a head-on... The car was totaled. Disco did it's job, wife and son were fine, so I'm very thankful)

01 Jeep Wrangler (loved this vehicle despite the death wobble) Straight 6 was awesome. Simple ride, no nonsense. Traded in at 140k miles for my GTI (see below)

07 Chevy Tahoe - my wife's vehicle. Still going strong with nearly 315k miles. 1 transmission rebuild at 100k miles and a little more minor work at 300k. Running her til she won't run anymore! I'll probably never own another vehicle with this sort of longevity or hassle free miles driven.

11 VW GTI - fun car! plenty of zip, very responsive and good feedback. Awful in the snow... at 140k miles i traded it in for the BS. Probably (and sadly) the last manual transmission vehicle i'll ever own. The Mustang, Jeep and VW were manual transmission. Although, I still think about picking up an early MGB GT so, who knows.. just maybe one more do it yourself transmission in my future....

'23 Bronco Sport Heritage - I really like this little Bronc.... have questions as to the longevity and durability but so far, i'm really having fun with it. - really wish it came with manual transmission.

What's after the Tahoe? Dunno.... wife wants another one, i just don't see $65k being a smart use of resources at this point in my life on something that depreciates so quickly.... but that's just me. Besides, another Tahoe will pale in comparison to the one we have... so there's that.

It would be great if FORD could offer "full recline" front seats like the 1st Gen CR-V (see photo #4).

Hmm.

I'll go back 23 years. All bought new that year:
2000: Nissan Frontier
2001: Nissan Pathfinder
2006: Honda Odyssey
2007: Honda Civic Hybrid
2009 Nissan Maxima
2013: Ford F150
2015 BMW X5 and a Land Rover LR4
2018 Honda Odyssey
2021 BMW X5
2022 BMW X7
2022 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands
2023 another Ford Bronco Sport Badlands

Somewhere in there I bought the only used car I've bought in almost 40 years, and that was a 2007 Aston Martin DB9.

Each of these was bought for a specific purpose. For what it is, the Bronco Sport is a fine car. I've enjoyed every one of these.
