Hmm.
I'll go back 23 years. All bought new that year:
2000: Nissan Frontier
2001: Nissan Pathfinder
2006: Honda Odyssey
2007: Honda Civic Hybrid
2009 Nissan Maxima
2013: Ford F150
2015 BMW X5 and a Land Rover LR4
2018 Honda Odyssey
2021 BMW X5
2022 BMW X7
2022 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands
2023...
Probably not a great replacement for the Lexus. We have an X7 for most of our road-trips. Far more comfortable, responsive, and quiet than the BS. But in and of itself, the BS is just fine.
This is a hot topic that comes up all the time. I posted about my experience with a lift and 255/70/17 tires and some trimming of plastic. No rub and I really enjoy the ride.
My wife and daughter are 5 hours away for my daughter to participate in a jr. golf tournament. A couple of days ago we realized that she needed something they’d left at home.
I jumped in the BS Badlands at about 5:30 in the evening, getting there about 10:30. Spent the night, got up to head back...
Thank you for sharing and your willingness to be vulnerable here. I suspect you have helped more than one person by posting your experience and what looks to be your road ahead.
Like others here, I will pray that you find peace and comfort, and a smooth journey to you.
What’s ironic about these last few posts about these tires creating a performance hit is that of the two Badlands in the family, the one with the lift and heavier tires is the more peppy of the two. The added weight of the tires is truly negligible. But the K&N air intake system added a handful...
Exactly - I think you are spot on. The ride difference is readily noticeable. It rides very differently, if we’re talking about things other than acceleration/power.
The Bronco Sport has a very car-like drive, from the factory. Smooth and easy. This set up changes that driving experience...
Finally, we are in agreement. Correct - the weight difference is truly no biggie. It’s kind of like having a 4th grader ride in the backseat of the Bronco Sport. Having such a passenger is not going to noticeably impact the vehicle’s performance.
the stock Pirelli 225/65/17 tires that came on the Badlands weigh 31 pounds. These larger BFG tires weigh 49 pounds. I think you greatly misunderstand the impact of adding 72 pounds of weight to the car. It will take a stop watch to measure the fractions of a second impact it has because I am...
What a strange person you are. You have an assumption not based on experience or actually knowing. I actually know what I’m talking about. Yeah - lol ok.
I’m telling you it simply is not true. You’re clearly talking about something you have not experienced. I have two Badlands. The one with this lift and heavier tires runs as effortlessly as the stock Badlands.
Love that First Edition, and those tires look great. Yeah - 235/70 should definitely be Ok with no rub. 255/70 not rubbing AND not needing to trim some plastic is surprising.
Love it. Love seeing somebody else go with those tires. There aren't too many of us crazy enough to go there, apparently, but I think they balance out the overall look of the BS very nicely.
Does Borla offer an exhaust that keeps the OEM angle of the exhaust tips? I like the down-turn on the pipes that come on the vehicle, for their functionality if crossing water.
