How long do you predict to keep your Bronco Sport (assuming no accidents total it)?

I voted 5-10 years, but really planning on the 10 year mark. Ten years (already have extended warranty) at my age is a) I’ll be ”muerte’”, b) they’ll have taken my license c) warranty will expire ??

My wife kept her '12 Escape Limited Hybrid for over 10 years. 99,600 miles. We went with 10-year ESP.

Wow! That first timeframe floored me. I’ve never had a vehicle for 4 years and over half less than 2, with many under 1. But I think I will keep this one a very long time. I’m thinking 3 years or so. My wife is thinking bullshit, and she’s right more than me.

Aiming for 15 years at 150k miles. Around year 2037. I'll probably be bored with it then and want something new

I wouldn't hesitate to hop in and drive to california in one shot on any day. (not that I'd ever go to califiornia, mind you). Life's too short to stress over things like that.
I get where they're coming from.

I came from driving a Honda for the last 10 years. I was actually shopping for a used Passport (my first SUV) at a Ford dealership but didn't like it after test driving it. The guy asked if I wanted to try a BS and I told him I'd take it on the way back from the test drive.

I never had any sudden issues with my Honda but I've read several stories about BSs not starting or stopping all of a sudden. Some with PTU issues. I get these forums are going to have more of those than not but I don't remember seeing things like that on a Honda forum. With it being a brand new model I understand those risks are there.

But after 4k miles with mine and 5 months, the only issues I'm seeing are my tires seem to be under inflated. I'm sure I filled them to 33 but they're all about 30 with it still being 100ºF+ every day.

I traded my MY2022 Badlands for a MY2023 Badlands after 16 months. I had no problems with the 22. I decided I wanted options I hadn’t ordered the first time. The 22 had 21,000 miles on it. I made 6 or 7 round trip drives from Seattle, WA to Seal Beach, CA. Not a single issue. Up through the Siskiyou (4000 ft) pass in all seasons.

I custom ordered my "perfect vehicle" with the intention of driving it until the wheels fall off. Splurged on the creature comforts because I knew I'd be keeping it a long time. I also don't want to impatiently wait another 8 months in the dark for my order to come in anytime soon. ?
Wait times have shortened. Ordered a BL on 6/14 and it is being delivered today. Just two months.

I agree with you on the quality. It's almost like the way they make cell phones now. They aren't made to last more than a year or two. Funny but I was hoping for a Land Cruiser also, and then I read first year availability in the US will be limited to 5000 units, Good luck grabbing one and even if we could I'm sure the "market adjustment" will be ridiculous.
I must be on borrowed time with my cell phone. Its over 6 years old, and a simple android. Still makes calls and texts, receives calls and texts. One step up from a old flip phone.

I still have a Motorola brick phone in the closet; our first cell phone.

And that is the absolute truth.

But back to the OP question. I didn't vote in the poll as there was no option for my pick.

I bought a Ford F150 4WD in January of 1976 and it was my daily driver until June of 2000.

At that time I bought a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT and it was my daily driver until March 2021 when I bought my Bronco.

So I guess I'll look for a new vehicle around 2040 or so.
I find that amazing that you can keep a vehicle for two plus decades, i can't keep a home that long till i need to move on.

interesting to see all the responses.
i remember when i was going to car shows with my mustangs there was a couple there every year, and every year they would have a different mustang....the latest, greatest that was out....
i asked one of his buddies about it, he said he didnt care what the price was or how much he got on trade he wanted whatever the newest one was every year and trade for that....
had to be leasing...otherwise he was just burning money.....

i agree with the electronics....i think that will be the downfall for alot of us wanting to keep them for a long time....(and not just cars) in today's world our "durable" goods only last 5-6yrs... back in the day they would last 20-25yrs. my parents still have their original refrigerator... going on 52yrs now. they have a refrigerator in the basement for "extras", have had to replace that one about 3 times since they started with 2..... the old one is outlasting all the others...combined!

unfortunate.

I usually keep a car 10 years, or 100,000 miles, not necessarily whichever comes first.
My '04 BMW X3 SAV was an exception at 13 years, and my '17 Escape will be another exception at just 7 years. Nothing wrong with the Escape. The extended warranty runs out at 7 years and the Badlands has me obsessed ever since it was first announced.
The clock will start when I get delivery of my ordered '24 BS BL.
No build date yet on the '24, so obviously no expected delivery date. Until then, I just have to swoon :cwl: reading here and watching YouTube reviews. :)

Phones last a lot longer now than they did. Glass is stronger and battery charging is adaptive now so the battery doesn't get worn out. My last phone was 4.5 years.
That being said, I definitely think that cars should last more than that. Planned obsolescence exists in cars but probably not to the same extent.
