There is a button on the trunk where you can program a sequence of presses to unlock the doors.
I have the warranty until 100k and will try to stay on top of the maintenance. 🤞
I just jumped ship to Subaru after owning a couple of Fords and wanted to make a post reflecting my initial impressions.
I put on a quite handful of miles on the BS and my recent torque converter developments had me worried. Decided it was time. I got the top trim Outback with the turbo engine...
In my opinion, Ford messed up their service intervals when it comes to the gearbox fluid. The shudder has been getting worse and for the first time it popped into neutral while driving. I can't really afford any downtime on my vehicle so I sold it last week and moved on. 79,000 miles in 4.5...
I don't car camp, per se.
But we did take our bikes out for a long weekend. A nice campground is cheaper than a hotel and bringing a car means we can take more food and water.
They did the hose fix for me. If the rdu starts to go again, I'm getting a gearbox and ecu from a salvage fwd Escape. ?
I never need awd anyway.
Actually the torque converter is starting to act weird too so it might not be a bad idea.
I love the outdoors and hiking but zero interest in brining a car there.
Just need a box on wheels that is as engaging to drive as it is practical.
I don't really mind the 1.5 or smaller engines in general. As long as they keep the cars relatively light weight with good steering.
That's why I loved watching Top Gear. No advertisers. They would be critical of a car even for a joke. There was one time a manufacturer couldn't take criticism and took them to court (Teslarrrr)
First thing I drove was a horse pulled cart when I was a kid. Then I drove a forklift for years before I got my driver's license at 31. I mostly learned with my first car, 2011 Fiesta 5 speed hatch. My only preparation was playing gran turismo and forza motorsport. ?
My rear pads were worn out before the fronts as well. I think the computer uses the rear breaks for stability control or torque vectoring or whatever magic they got to keep the awd stable.
Lots of hot takes here.
Yes, USA will fall behind but that's nothing new. We will continue making cars that only other Americans will buy. Ignorance is bliss.
Personally, I am not too jazzed about EVs but for different reasons. I'd rather be on a bus or a train like when I am travelling...
