Keeping your Bronco Sport how long?

How long do you predict to keep your Bronco Sport (assuming no accidents total it)?

Until something else excites me. My main vehicles I aim for 10yr/200,000kms or so. 98 GMC, 07 F150, 07 MDX (that one was 3/4 of the way there when purchased). Cheap used ones I’m good with as long as they last.

But my 20 explorer was the first exception (thanks to some life changes) & my 22 BSBL might be the 2nd. Perhaps unfortunately now I’m used to trading sooner than I’d have to. There’s just too many good vehicles coming out for 24 from Ford (F150, Ranger, Explorer) and even Toyota now is catching my eye (LC, Tacoma, 4Runner for 25).

Interested in how long you plan to keep a Bronco Sport as one of your rides.

Me? I average around 1 to 4 years with a new car, but this one could be a keeper.
I only plan on keeping mine till the warranty is off. For me, as of now, this BS is NOT a keeper. Things could change depending on what else is available out there at the time. I had my last Jeep for 7 yrs.

Our '22 BL replaced an 18 year old Escape. This is primarily my wife's car, and she is permanent work from home post-pandemic so we will not rack up miles too fast. We do drive it frequently on errands, etc. to try and keep those miles off of my 2012 Expedition.

We keep vehicles a long time - until maintenance costs get too bad. I would still be driving my '03 Super Duty (7.3 Powerstroke) if someone hadn't run a red light and totaled it.

I could see us keeping the BS 15+ years. Biggest concern I would have is the cloth upholstery, but the minute it starts to show wear I will do real leather with Katskinz. I did that on my Expedition and they did a fabulous job.

I generally keep vehicles a long long time. Glad I got 2021 Badlands trim which has avoided a lot of issues raised in this forum re 3-cylinder engine on other trims. Anyway, mine has been great. 15,000 miles and only oil changes and tire rotations.
However, still has very high resale/trade-in value, which may make me think otherwise. Might be a great stepping stone in the next year or two.

I agree with you on the quality. It's almost like the way they make cell phones now. They aren't made to last more than a year or two.
Maybe if you drop them a lot or they overcharge or something but otherwise, cell phones last along time.

Typically I keep them 4 or 5 years and only upgrade because they have some new feature I want. They're still working just fine.

I don’t see an option for me. I kept my last F150 for 17 years. I hope I have the same good fortune with the BS??

I custom ordered my "perfect vehicle" with the intention of driving it until the wheels fall off. Splurged on the creature comforts because I knew I'd be keeping it a long time. I also don't want to impatiently wait another 8 months in the dark for my order to come in anytime soon. ?
I did the same thing.

I live life differently, not driving a vehicle till it is no longer road worthy. I want to always enjoy my ride.

Probably 10 years (I drive generally 10K miles a year), unless a mechanical issue becomes so great that it's a huge problem, gas prices drive me to seek a more fuel efficient vehicle (or an EV), or something happens (like it being totaled in an accident).

Maybe sooner if there's some hugely compelling feature.

I had most of the fancy tech stuff in my 2015 Fusion (including a Sync 3 upgrade) and wouldn't have bought the BS (at least at this time) if it wasn't totaled in an accident.

One feature I'd really like to see is Apple and Android car key support... while I'd probably generally still carry the fob, easy access to the vehicle by just grabbing the handle while your phone is on your body is nice. And the ability to digitally lend a key on CarKey to a family member or friend for a limited duration and having to arrange giving them the key sooner is nice. Sometimes I leave a vehicle at the train station so family in NYC can drive to my home when the train arrives. Being able to do that (rather than hiding the key in the glovebox and locking via securicode/FordPass app) would be really nice...

(Also on the phone car key stuff, Apple CarKey at least works for 5-6 hours after your phone is "dead" and shuts off. So access to your vehicle wouldn't generally be an issue, and once you're in the vehicle, the car can charge it.)

Although I owned a '19 Ranger for a short time with no issues, I'm a Honda guy. I was looking at a '23 Passport Elite with 4K miles but I loved the styling of the BS. So I took a chance. I don't have the confidence of a Honda next month on a 1500 mile round trip. It's not a good feeling. We'll see what happens if anything.
Made a 2000 mile trip in May. It was fantastic and plenty of room for 4 plus luggage

I would usually go five years or a few more but we bought our BS cash and owe nothing. Never outright owned a vehicle from the go so not sure if that will affect future decisions.

I bought my 2023 BS Big Bend in January 2024 brand new. I started putting on 120 miles per day 5 days per week in June of 2024. I am estimating I will have 100k miles by June of 2027. I did my first full synthetic oil change at 1500 miles and my second at 5k and am changing the oil every 5k since and im at 43.5k as of today. I also just flushed the transmission fluig at 43k. I will keep my BS for as long as it lasts. I had my coolant replaced at 39k after I had a failure of my water pump which was covered under my extended warranty. Ill keep yall posted how long it lasts as it seems most folks are putting fewer miles than me on average.

I hope that mine leaves me after I leave this plane of existence.

Then again, given all the deletions on the ā€˜26’s, maybe I can get a ridiculous trade value down the road on my ā€˜25 Badlands Sasquatch in Desert Sand, pushing it as a ā€œlimited editionā€. ;)
