Got it in. Install took maybe 45 minutes. Worst part is putting the glass back into the door.

Had to use forscan and enable "keypad" under Body Control Module
And "door keypad" in APIM
Which allowed the new menu item to be able to add custom code

Great addition and can't beat free parts, and not wasting a day at the dealership.

So I take it the keypads were decontented from the Badlands?

I think it's now optional for all other trims besides outer banks which is standard.

i use it mostly because trying to find the keys in my wifes purse is nearly impossible, even for her sometimes when the handle touch wont unlock it and she has to get the fob closer

Well shit

2012 civic hit and ran my wife on her way home not even 1 mile from the freeway exit to get home.

Wife is mostly okay, she already has a bad back so going to get checked out. Shes definitely in some pain. Made police report but we will see what happens. I was on my way home when she called me, went over and met her with the tow truck. I had to remove the wheel to get the wheel well liner and mud guard out. Rear trailing arm is bent giving some forward caster, toe in, and positive camber. On that rear passenger wheel.

Traffic stopped probably because there was a group of people with signs on this footbridge over the freeway with Jesus signs distracting everyone. Also semi and others honking horns.

Could've been worse, when traffic came to a halt she was behind a truck towing a boat. Only going 50mph with good following distance And had to move over. The car behind her did not stop in time.

Still have to call insurance, but dash cam got everything.

Figures, since I just got this badlands up to par.

Hope all goes well for your wife and getting the Sport repaired.

It shouldn't be too hard to figure out the fool who caused it with your das cam and the bumper with the license plate on it.

Well, that sucks. Glad your wife is ok. Initentive driving seems to be very bad these days. Of course it doesn’t help having people feel like a bridge over a busy freeway is the best place to practice free speech doesn’t help matters.

Wish your wife the best, backs are a real pain (no pun intended). At least with that bumper and plate your insurance won’t fight about UIM coverage and your rates won’t go up. I’d be willing to bet that a-hole reported his car stolen before your tow arrived — it’s California!

Wife's back doing good thankfully, I was worried about that. It was my day off, the collision center was open and I was there at 8am but weren't ready for me and had to come back at 930, got paper work all filled out, initial estimate before adjuster came out is $10,056.25

$1000 deductible waived, no info back on the police report side, sent dash cam videos, screen shots, and scene photos to adjuster. Going to send to CHP officer as well for police report, just been busy.

So we will see how long we're in this POS enterprise Camry.

On another note, hood struts arrived in the mail today.

no real updates, the collision repair place usually calls Tuesdays and Thursdays so I should get something more today.

not sure why it took so long to get going, was a bit nervous at first they had a hard time finding a body panel that goes behind the tail light, up to the roof, and part of the spare tire well, found it and had to confirm if that zone could be sectioned or not, if not the whole entire roof would have to come off since that rear panel tucks under the roof and is welded. thankfully that is not the case. they are sectioning in a piece at the factory seam.
total cost for insurance is $12k and some change so far.

the bad news, police report was completed, basically CHP found an address in Madera
CA registered to the driver, went and knocked no answer, left information. they found another address in west Sacramento which made more sense. went, knocked at door, no answer left information. case closed, officer's final summary and statements are incorrect since he didn't even arrive at the scene, but had us meet him in a nearby parking lot with the tow truck, he also puts my wife at fault saying my wife vehicle 1, changed lanes while vehicle 2 (who was not identified or given a statement) had insufficient time to stop and was hit, then left the scene.

so CHP is useless and calling them probably did more harm to us than good. $1000 deductible is possibly on the table again. we have since written a letter and delivered in person to CHP office to add to report. with corrections to the officers statements, and questions we have.

need to call insurance and get some clarification on all that as well. hopefully they investigate and get their money from the other party involved. just been super busy with her family health issues which we've been dealing with since before the accident. when it rains it pours

anyways i got an itchy finger for an MRT axle back. see if my wife notices

Glad to hear your wife is doing ok. Not too surprised about the police, though. My chef’s office was broken into once at a resort. Stole $1200 in knives and my 35mm camera outfit. Found a local kids drivers license in the hallway and gave it to the officer and advised to look into him. The officer stated I watch too much TV!
The CHP probably think your wife was carrying around the Civic bumper and just tossed it on the ground.

@Rockboz wow. I feel like that officer was burnt out also. I had to ask him to speak up several times because i couldn't hear him.

@Dude not too sure yet but ill probably end up replacing the rear and side markers on the bumper. But I told the bodyshop to save me the markers even the broken ones, might be able to re use the leds and retro the side lights into the rear marker housings. I was told they would swap the wiring harness to the new bumper cover. I will also have to get another set of light smoke overlays since the passenger tail lamp is getting replaced.

Thinking about getting a flasher module for the 3rd brake lamp. Never really liked them but maybe necessary
