Two more items came in the mail today. The @Underground Graphics light smoke over lay to install on the new passenger side tail lamp. And going with the z36 pads this time. I looked into upgrading the rear rotor size like I've done on my ST but the rear is already 302mm which is the same on the Maverick. Rangers and explorers are 5x114.3 bolt pattern so those rotors won't work. And the electronic parking brake on the caliper bracket makes it more difficult to find a compatable swap also. The front rotors are 308mm so I've scrapped the idea realizing i cant really go much bigger in back, and it would be kind of ridiculous to put some brembos in front. I was hoping it would be easier like on the focus. Might look further into steel braided lines. I've always thought the brakes on these were terrible. Maybe if I would've just put the z36 instead of the z17 it would've stopped better. I figured it was overkill and the 17 were fine. They definitely stopped better than stock.

I told the collision shop to reinstall the damond brass bushings on the caliper bolts, hopefully they did. Whole hub assembly needed to be replaced on that side. Also have the hood struts in box.

Ill probably re order the rear side markers again. Looking at pictures i noticed the rear bumper lights actually didnt take a hit. And one more big box is paid for but not quite on the way yet.

i should order flasher module too. I'm thinking of just putting it on the 3rd brake light. Maybe on the rear facing bumper lights, but the change from dim to high on those chinesium lamps is not really super noticable.
It would be different to put it on the running ring light portion of the tail lamp, but not quite sure if I could do that. Since signal to initiate module would be from brake lamp. Something I'll have to play with.

One thing is for sure I'm over this camry loaner. Reminds me too much of the wife's old subaru

Gave the car a decent wipe down with some detail spray, (collision place washed it but not good enough) still some dust from wet sanding in some spots I had to clean up. Greasy finger prints on the white headliner I got out.

Swapped the lamps in the tail lights back to led

Applied the new light smoke film on the new passenger tail light

Put the cargo net and random items back in the vehicle.

All I had time for tonight. After grilling meat for dinner and different meat for lunches tomorrow.

Cleaned up hard water spots on windows and other spots around the vehicle from the collision center's "detailers"

Installed a flasher module on the 3rd brake lamp today. Hard to explain, but it does a

stays solid on the dash. A lot going on with wife's family, we spent the night at the in laws up into early morning, so my head is in a weird place, as a result I wired module backwards the first time and had to re do it. Whatever. It's all soldered connections. I couldn't find my loom tape. But I might wrap up the wires when I find it.

Reinstalled the morimoto reverse light boost bar

I also removed the radio display to be able to remove the large dash trim piece that goes over the cluster and wraps around the radio to fix a rattle that's been there since new. I killed it.

Reason being I plan to give the car back to collision center to re do their paint and finish job, and there's a new flapping noise in the rear cargo area that I noticed after they worked on it. I don't want them to say the noise is the dash and not where I know it's coming from.

Back at in laws house and brought the lap top to mess with some forscan stuff. My licence expired again. So going to try to renew that.
Edit: enabled, emergency brake lamp, changed what chimes i still have enabled to be cluster only not speakers. Im going to test and find out what emergency brake lamp actually is. New rotors and pads are waiting to be installed.

Oh and here's a cherry on top, got a phone call this morning from my neighbors, that my work truck was broken into. So that was cool.

Stupid criminals struggled to break a window. I could teach them a thing or two about getting the job done. My neighbor said my alarm went off around 3:10am. Of course my camera didn't record the event. Not that it matters, recently found out how truly useless law enforcement is around here.

@jmunsJust got home and checked battery terminals. Super loose. I assume collision center disconnected battery while welding new panel on. Stange warning only came on today. But it was a long day of driving around figuring out funeral arrangements, and Temps were around 108, so that probably contributed to some battery strain.

Hopefully the error goes away after tightening the connections.

Sorry to hear about the death in the family.

@Jmuns thanks, its a bit of a relief. Girls are taking it better than expected.

i hope the warning doesnt come back. Only popped up three times just today only. I'm pretty sure this was the issue.

Few dents and needs to fix some tiny fish eyes in the clear. I counted a dozen. Also a rattle that wasn't there before in the rear hatch area.

Got a 2024 Malibu loaner

What an ordeal. 10 out of 10 don't recommend.

I do however recommend some bigfoot. This is the 2014 vintage as celebration!
Color Paint on the rear quarter panel looks lighter than the door

paint match is actually spot on, its just the light reflecting over the fender at this angle. it feels weird giving it back. I just hope it doesn't come back worse somehow. the chevy malibu would actually be nice if it wasn't a rental car. detailed the interior yesterday and cleaned the windows. oil life says 20% so that should be interesting. we have a road trip planned. and having no tint is miserable.

I thought we would get the car back today, but no such luck. they're still trying to eliminate that new noise in the rear hatch area. pretty annoying. Got the call after I polished the MRT exhaust and organized the pile of parts.
