Agreed and in comparison to you lucky folks who live in Arizona, my 2025 Big Bend sat outside last night in - 5 C weather (with snow). After starting her up this morning , she high idled for about 45 seconds and then dropped down to 1000 rpm.I would say that's not right.I have the same engine in the 2025 XLT AWD Maverick I have now[no longer have a BS] I wait maybe a Minute or so and If it's still at a high idle I just put it in gear and take off. I don't think I've ever timed it to see how long it takes for the high idle to drop back.
Up there I thought the sun shield went on the inside in summer and the outside in winter!Agreed and in comparison to you lucky folks who live in Arizona, my 2025 Big Bend sat outside last night in - 5 C weather (with snow). By the way, that large windshield wiper cavity holds a ot of snow and makes it hard to remove ice from the wipers ! Did I read about heated wipers on the forum ?
Cheers
Not when I do a start. Still a high idle.Is the Air Conditioning on or in "Auto" when starting up & I think the Compressor runs on Defrost also ?
Wouldn't you know Anderson Ford States it's normal. I'm starting to dislike this ride. Have owned Fords all my life now feel jilted.Yes sir.
Now you can try disconnecting the 12V battery terminal for an hour or moreWouldn't you know Anderson Ford States it's normal. I'm starting to dislike this ride. Have owned Fords all my life now feel jilted.
Next time You start it let it run for like 30 seconds put it in gear [reverse or drive] stop before You get out of your driveway put it in park and see what rpm the idle is at?Wouldn't you know Anderson Ford States it's normal. I like your idea but I'm not sure my summer sun shield would survive the snow , freezing rain and wind of an Ontario winter !Up there I thought the sun shield went on the inside in summer and the outside in winter!
FWIW You have the 1.5. EB not the 2.0 EB the OP has in His Badlands but nice to know that Your high idle drops under 1000 rpm in 45 seconds at -5 C. And FWIW I live in Northeast,Ohio and it's 27 degrees outside right now and it was snowing like crazy about 30 minutes ago with 2-3 inches of snow on the ground.Agreed and in comparison to you lucky folks who live in Arizona, my 2025 Big Bend sat outside last night in - 5 C weather (with snow). Thanks Bill, I'll do some research on that.I remember, some place, reading about some outfit that made something you can stuff in that cavity to keep the snow out, then pull out for driving.
I know there are windshield covers for snow, but in the US most winters aren’t as harsh as yours so the generic ones will serve both seasons.I like your idea but I'm not sure my summer sun shield would survive the snow , freezing rain and wind of an Ontario winter !
On a related topic, you must have at least a brief "winter " in Arizona ? How else can you explain how your state could produce an exceptional hockey player like Auston Mathews (captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs) ?
Cheers
