  1. Changing drive modes a huge drain on my gas tank

A well written and entertaining comment ! Are you a creative writer ? If not, you should be ! The daytime temperature in Toronto over the last week or so has been between - 5 and - 10 C. I have also noticed a drop in gas mileage when using the Sport mode of my BSBB. And I warm up the...
  2. But............

Hi Garth, you are "lucky" to live in one of the snow belts of Ontario ! We live in the Humber Valley area of west Toronto. One reason we got the Bronco Sport was because of the steep roads to get out of the valley and onto the main streets in winter. The City of Toronto does not always do a...
  3. But............

Make sure you get all the snow off of the roof before it starts to melt. Last week I had some melting snow slide down the windshield and into the deep cowl. That caused the wipers to malfunction ! What part of Ontario do you live in ? Cheers
  4. Spare tire size

I have a 25 BS Big Bend and because Ford didn't supply a spare tire I found a used Ford aluminum wheel and a Yokohama Geolander tire (225/65/17). This "spare " fits well in the space under the rear floor . Hope this helps. Cheers
  5. No block heater 2025 bsbb

Greetings fellow Canadian, are you referring to an AGM - type battery in your Outer Banks ? Does anyone in the forum know if AGM batteries are more resistant to extreme ( - 40 C ! ) cold ? Cheers
  6. No block heater 2025 bsbb

I haven't seen any information about the new block heater. Your local Ford dealer should be able to offer advice about cold weather starting in your area , their vehicles are parked outside also !
  7. No block heater 2025 bsbb

Greetings fellow Canadian, I also have a 2025 Big Bend and it did not come with a block heater. I have had no problems with cold weather starting but here in southern Ontario the coldest its been is - 6. or. - 7 C. You must live much farther north than I do. My question for you is how well...
  8. Your real world MPG?

Oh yes, imperial gallons vs US gallons . Another reason for the American revolution? Seriously, have you found any differences in gas consumption or engine performance using the higher octane gas in the BB ?
  9. Your real world MPG?

I think we have the same 1.5 engine as yours in our 2025 Big Bend. The trip to our cabin in central Ontario includes about 200 km of highway driving (speed limit of 100 km/hour). On several trips last summer the gas mileage on the highway was as low as 7 litres/100 km. Is that about 30 mpg...
  10. 10,000 mile update: not a single issue

I had the same problem with our 25 BSBB when going up a long incline near our home. I solved the vibration problem by putting the vehicle in Sport mode and pressing the accelerator just before reaching the start of the hill. This increases the RPMs and the speed and I assume, this allows the...
  11. Idles too long before kick down, all day long and it is warm out

Thanks for this message from our neighbor across Lake Erie ! Just to let you know, Canadians will send our neighbors to the south all the cold air and snow they want and FOR FREE !! And best of all they will be TARIFF FREE. !! IMO , neighbors from these 2 great countries need to laugh...
  12. Idles too long before kick down, all day long and it is warm out

I like your idea but I'm not sure my summer sun shield would survive the snow , freezing rain and wind of an Ontario winter ! On a related topic, you must have at least a brief "winter " in Arizona ? How else can you explain how your state could produce an exceptional hockey player like...
  13. Idles too long before kick down, all day long and it is warm out

Agreed and in comparison to you lucky folks who live in Arizona, my 2025 Big Bend sat outside last night in - 5 C weather (with snow). After starting her up this morning , she high idled for about 45 seconds and then dropped down to 1000 rpm. By the way, that large windshield wiper cavity...
  14. Add Auto-wipers?

Agreed, one less thing to have to fiddle with when it starts to rain ! They came with my 25 BB that was built in May of this year. Cheers
  15. New recall 2025-281 in Canada for 2025 Bronco Sports both 1.5L and 2.0L engines

Hi Garth, what year is your Badlands ? Was the block heater cord an option or standard equipment ? When in use, where is this cord located in the engine ? Does anyone know what BS trim levels and years are involved in this recall ? Many thanks
  16. SUV Tent to Trailer Trip Switch

Agreed, that is good mileage for a 2L Badlands. Our 2025 Big Bend (1.5L) is using about 7 L / 100 km on the highway without pulling a trailer. Cheers
  17. It’s been a year of ownership…

I ve had my BSBB for about 4 months and 3500 km now and you took the words out of my mouth ; handling, agility and responsiveness , especially on the highway! I use sport mode in the city for smooth acceleration. No mechanical issues ! Cheers
  18. My speedometer doesn't have numbers on the dial.

That's the way the speedometer on my 2025 BB looks. Cheers
  19. Spare tire question

Yes, that is a "yes" . The Ford dealer where I leased the BB wanted about $800 (Cdn) for a mini spare wheel and tire and the jacking hardware ! I politely declined ! So, as you say, it must be a trim level difference or Ford has decided BBs shipped to Canada don't deserve spare tires ...
