Thats the funny thing! When I do aggressive offroad I don’t have problems but stupid slopes with like really loose terrain the AWD system shuts down because 1 tire go spinning and the last thing you want in a slope is to have to stop because your car goes FWD ?

Can and do you lock the center together? The Badlands lets you lock the front and rear together.

There is no FORScan spreadsheet or quick ref for the Bronco Sport that I have seen. The post you are in seems to be about the best info but often times the specific FORScan updates and steps to make are not clearly stated. Some are a trial and error unless you have the experience.

Would love to see a list too of simple things that can be changed. A couple I have heard mentioned that would be on my list of wants if I can find a shop with ForScan services:

Auto stop elimination.

Double horn honk elimination.

All 4 windows down with fob.

I would think that may cause irreversable damage. Are you doing that aggresive of off roading? I had A BSBL that I was hard on it without issue. I know a Badlands is different than a Big Bend.

After some research turns out that I just need to program with the tires and wheels I have! Since OEM had 18” with 225/60 and now have 17” 245/70 all sensors are ready incorrectly “that’s what the ford technician told me”

If you didn’t make a backup then I think you can locate the “as-built” for your vehicle and restore from that. The instructions tell you how to get the as-built. But you should find out exactly how to do that restore so there’s no chance of bricking your vehicle. (Look for “Restoring a module to original as-built values” on the link above)

Throwing in some light research I’ve been looking at in case anyone’s curious and wants to work some pseudo reverse engineering. I’m working with an Outer Banks; aside from the obvious drivetrain differences, this is the closest trim to the Badlands in terms of what’s onboard.

This sheet shows the differences in the AsBuilt data between a 2022 Outer Banks and a 2022 Badlands. I’ve annotated them by module. Green means it’s a match, orange and red show the differences. There some lines in both sets that are only present in that trim, and absent in the other.

The “easy mode” forscan options sometimes work, but they are missing data or do not change the data correctly sometimes. For that reason I’m digging into the differences in the AsBuilts, not the module config modes. (Take a full backup before mucking with anything and keep it safe of course).

For example; not present is the option to enable the off-road screen in the digital display. This is controlled by the IPC, line 0720-07-02. In the OB this is 0504 4881. In the BL, this is 0304 487F. By changing the second digit from 5 to 3, you enable the off-road cluster screen in the OB, with working tilt and angle measurements.

In my OB, I’ve swapped out the GOAT dial for the one from a BL, which features more buttons on it. Why? Why not! Science! Referencing the service manual, I found that both dials use the same plug, and it was a direct swap. This gives us 4 buttons to play with;

1. Trail Control
2. Traction Control Off
3. 4WD Lock
4. Rear diff lock.

Obviously, 4 will never work; can’t magically make a locking diff appear sadly. 3 could possibly work; as far as I can tell all this button does it ask the computer to send power to all 4 wheels all the time while enabled, something a non BL can do. 2 should be trivial; this is a feature already, it just lives in a menu in the screen. 1 is where I started with since I was curious about it.

Right off the bat from the button switch; nothing worked except the GOAT dial. The button subtle backlighting worked, which told me they were getting power, but were unresponsive and did not light up when pressed. Digging in the EZ mode config, there is an option for “trail control present”. After enabling and restarting, the button itself now lights up when pressed; now we’re getting somewhere! I need to return and figure out what line that actually changed. Aside from lighting up this didn’t actually enable anything. However, this DOES tell us that the wiring harness for the dial modules should be the same, and the buttons can talk to the computer in some capacity.

Next, I compared some differences in the IPC, following the success of the offroad screen. Through some trial and error I learned that line 0720-10-01 controls trail control; 1D08 1 in the OB, 180C 1 in the BL. After changing the code to match the BL, the trail control button now brings up the “trail control enabled” display in the cluster; great success!! We’ve confirmed the swapped buttons can speak to other modules like they’re supposed to. However, sadly it asks you to press “set” to set trail control speed; pressing set doesn’t appear to do anything. I’ve dug around in the SCCM; line 0724-02-01 controls the left and right steering wheel button clusters. The code does differ, but changing the code stops the steering wheel controls in the OB from responding. More investigation is needed.

My next moves will be to look into enabling the other buttons, and seeing where I can rectify the issue with trail control. I’m worried there may be a difference in the steering wheels between the BL and OB that will never let the SET button work, but we’ll see. I’m not sure why they’d be different; it’s essentially just slow cruise control, and the button clusters set cruise control in the same way.

Interested to hear if anyone else has made any leads that aren’t just the easy mode buttons; the maverick guys have done a lot of work digging around in the AsBuilt and enabled some cool stuff, but I haven’t seen much of the same for the BS

7. Splash Screen changed to Ford Performance

Note: for above items, Relearn PCM and AWD modules then clear the DTC codes

8. Add Bass to Rear Speakers (unknown if this works on any Bronco Sport B&O 10 speaker system)

9. Auto High Beam AHB Fade setting probably is in the API section:
Default: high beams come on full and off full or can be set to fade on full (takes about 2 seconds) and fade off (takes about 1 second)

10. Enable Off-Road (tilt and angle) screen on an Outer Banks. Requires the 6.5” instrument cluster screen, smaller screens won’t work.

11. Disable autolock (prevent doors from locking when speed > 4mph is reached)

12. Disable tailgate lock when vehicle is on and in gear

13. Disable keyfob panic button horn alarm

14. Disable seatbelt beep alarm when seatbelts are not worn

15. Eliminate hyper-flash occurring with use of certain LED stop lights and rear turn signal lights (instrument cluster turn signal icons flash faster than rear turn signals due to use of LED bulbs without load resistors) (FORScan alternative to splicing in load resistors):

Set Rear Stop and Rear Turn Bulb Outage parameters in the BdyCM to "disabled"

Reason: rear stop bulbs and rear turn signals share a common load or ground so both parameters need to be set in FORScan

Additional GOAT modes cannot be added via FORScan to the non-Badlands (non-2.0L) models. The published FORScan changes are for the full size Bronco not for the 1.5L Bronco Sport models which do not have the hardware needed for the additional GOAT modes that are on the 2.0L Badlands/FE and certain Heritage models.

Are these possible?

I really wish I know how I did it… but now in my cluster I can see where the traction is going! If someone finds how should be nice for every off-roader

you went into your vehicle setup and added the screen, I had to do this to add trip 2 also.

Does someone know what is the biggest MM I can put on the tire size? Now I have 265/70/17 “that’s 2520mm circumference” and got a message saying that the number is not supported and now I don’t have hill assist,goat modes,cruise control,etc.
