Assuming the fleet vehicles you were using were also fleet maintained, fleet vehicles are usually better maintained than the typical everyday personal vehicle which likely added to the fleet vehicles reliability.
I had to take them in for maintenance. I'm in sales and the vehicles are 100% maintained by myself, but the maintenance is paid for by the fleet company. I would only start to think about changing the oil when the oil life went to 0% and I carried close to 300lbs of equipment in them all the time in the back. I treated them horribly.

I happen to agree that Ford is totally out of touch with reality when it comes to how their products are used in real life and the expiation that normal day to day usage does not include regular visits to the dealer to have issues address for which Ford has no actual repair. (two F-150 with electrical problems) However, we must also remember that the people who start discussions on a forum are people who are experiencing issues. People that are not having issues don't start a thread telling about how fantastic and trouble free their ride actually is.
