Or the 2.3 mustang motor.Personally I’d like to see the 2.0 as base and the 2.7 as an option on all trims. The 1.5 is only there to satisfy the EPA.

I think the 2.3 would also be more realistic than the 2.7 EB V/6 since the 2.0 EB and 2.3 EB are in the same engine family IIRC.I could see the 2.0L as standard, but the 2.3L out of the big Bronco would be more realistic.
My 2021 1.5L just had the oil pump go bad with only 36k on the clock. I found online that this seems to be common on these engines. We have a 2021 1.5. 91K miles 0 major issues. Change the oil and rotate the tires every 5k. It had the water pump fixed and new belt under warranty at 70k. The alternator needed replaced at 85k bc it was making noise. I would strongly recommend NOT following fords maintenance schedule if you intend to own it long term. We changed the RDU, PTU and transmission fluid at 60k all were in bad shape. Are planning to change them all again at 100k. The older 1.5 are the problem child’s. This one in the BS is pretty well made. Fords service recommendations are what kill these. Ours has been on many long trips. We take it camping every year in NH with no issues and it gets 30mpg. Great little car.

Don’t recall any other 1.5L post about oil pump failure (Bronco Sports), if you have links showing this as a common failure please postMy 2021 1.5L just had the oil pump go bad with only 36k on the clock. I found online that this seems to be common on these engines.
Source please for this statement. My 2021 1.5L just had the oil pump go bad with only 36k on the clock. I found online that this seems to be common on these engines.
The dealer I use hasn’t seen any oil pump issues on the 1.5 unless there was an assembly/production issue or poor maintenance. Not to say it can’t happen. Just saying. My 2021 1.5L just had the oil pump go bad with only 36k on the clock. I found online that this seems to be common on these engines.
How do they replace the oil pump without tearing the engine down?My bad on the verbiage, these engines seem to have an issue throwing low oil pressure lights and a P0524 code, which is exactly what mine would do at around 5000 RPM and then it would throw itself into limp mode. Ford checked the sensor and the associated wiring, all good. When the tech checked the pump, they found the pump had a lot of resistance so they replaced it. All is good now, I hit redline yesterday with no hiccups, but there will be future issues with these engines with that wet belt system driving the oil pump. There is no reason for an oil pump to be bad at 36k, it is just crappy Ford quality.

I hated the hard shifting on the 1.5 so I got the 2.0 24 BL…. I’m getting 26 mpg. I run premium or ethanol free fuel and it helps a lot. Also tires matter. The Pirellis give me better mpg than my winter cross tracks.Hi, I currently own a 2022 BSBB with 18 K on it and the 1.5 L. I'm considering a 2024 BSBL, from a Chevy dealer, with only 3800 mikes on it. It was a former lease. I love the MPG with my 1.5 and the power in Sport mode. I just don't trust the 3 banger , especially with all the recalls and apparently another is coming today in the mail. I'd really appreciate any input from the forum. Thank you in advance.
Makes sense. I had mine three months and went to the dealer for oil change and they were telling me it was too soon. But I like having it changed right after a break in period. Maintenance is cheaper than replacement. We have a 2021 1.5. 91K miles 0 major issues. Change the oil and rotate the tires every 5k. It had the water pump fixed and new belt under warranty at 70k. I’ve never experienced that.I hated the hard shifting on the 1.5
The oil pump is actually super simple to replace, just remove the oil pan and the belt cover and the pump is fully exposed. Sounds like the oil pump belt replacement is a whole other story. How do they replace the oil pump without tearing the engine down?
26, I would have never bought mine if it was rated that low. I get over 37MPG (US) with my 1.5 when it had the Michaelin primacy tires on (mountainous highway driving) and when I went to the all terrain that dropped down to 34MPGand it has enough power to hold 70mph up a grade 13 hill on cruise control.I hated the hard shifting on the 1.5 so I got the 2.0 24 BL…. I get over 37MPG (US) with my 1.5 when it had the Michaelin primacy tires on (mountainous highway driving) and when I went to the all terrain that dropped down to 34MPG, on regular 87 pump gas. it also has enough power to hold 70mph up a grade 13 hill on cruise control so power wise it feels way stronger than my 2.5L I had in my fusion and gets better gas milage. the fuel economy was a big consideration for me as I commute 70 miles each way to work. plus if I got a 2.0 I would have lost some of the interior comforts I got, yes they could have been optioned back in but that would have driven the cost up way more than would have been worth it. plus we didn't see any badlands here, only once and a while. I think in the last two years there have only been a couple at the dealership. lots in the full sized broncos though.I hated the hard shifting on the 1.5 so I got the 2.0 24 BL…. I’m getting 26 mpg.
