I hated the hard shifting on the 1.5 so I got the 2.0 24 BL…. I’m getting 26 mpg. I run premium or ethanol free fuel and it helps a lot. Also tires matter. The Pirellis give me better mpg than my winter cross tracks.

How do you know? I’m not worried about it sticking I’m concerned about dirt and salt getting up there and rotting the paint and hood. I plan on keeping this car for as long as I can

Okay so I broke down and bought the ford accessory but now I’m concerned. The install is with adhesive tape with gaps which means dirt and road salt will get in. I want to protect my hood not rot it away. Has any one found an alternative to this?

So literally a year ago my much loved 2009 Escape Hybrid, came down with a steering problem while visiting my Dad and no parts could be found to fix it. Enter basically the same car but more off roadie 2024 BL 2.0. (note I broke the tie rods twice on the Escape taking on trails around here)...

I forget the brand name. I thought it was an “official” accessory but it sounds like others are not having the issue so I guess I will try the one offered on the ford site.

I installed a hood deflector and now I have a whistle sound over 25 mph. I live near a gravel pit. So the deflector is necessary. Are there deflectors that don’t cause a whistle?

Your mpg will also depend on your tires and accessories. I have a ‘24 2.0L. Winter tires and skis in rack. 23mpg. Summer tires no rack 25mpg. I drive at 80mph highway and around town speed limit. Climbing mountains also drops the mpg.

I am an Apple girl. It doesn’t connect CarPlay unless I plug my phone in. My BF’s 21 King Ranch connects automatically. Maybe I need to spend more time with the owners manual.
