BMW 230i 2025 same price three times the auto I had the 1.5L 2.0L BSBLSQ and outer Banks they really both suck once you drive a real 2.0L turbo from BMW with the exact price......crazy the quality the Bronco has lost.

@Stircrazy Exactly what I was talking about (lag then kickin is rough shifting in my mind) I live in Salt Lake so I’m up and down mountains everyday. I’m happy with 26. Today had two trips to Park City so a gain of 2500ft each time. Downhill is nice though to let off the gas and cruise at 90. My uphill speed is closer to 80. To each their own. I test drove the 1.5 at sea level and hated the acceleration shifting. For me I enjoy the 2.0.

If you are driving like that go I-Drive AWD 2.0L twin turbo BMW you will wonder why you put up with the Bronco Sports Junk for the same price its crazy the quality and differance in it !

I’ve never experienced that.
Me either when I had My 2023 BS BB. In fact I think the BS BB transmission shifts better than the 2025 XLT AWD Maverick I have now with the 2.0 EB does even before I installed the Pedal Max on the BS BB.

A real 2.0 Turbo that's a whole 5 Horsepower more than the 2.0 in the Badlands. Good luck when the Warranty runs out on that BMW and You pay out the Ass to have it fixed.

It's a 2025 come back in a couple years and let us know how that quality is holding up. And your BMW is a 2 Door let me know how the passengers like riding in the back seat.

Sorry but I just don’t see that being able to carry 4 people plus 4 sets of skis and get to Snowbird on a powder day.

I hated the hard shifting on the 1.5 so I got the 2.0 24 BL….
Interesting because both use the same 8F35 transmission … but possibly the power curve of the 2.0 interacts with the transmission differently.

I am wondering if it has something to do with the way it was driven during the learning process. mine is all highway driving commuting to work and trips around town when I am on days off. no drag racing. I did notice in sports mode it goes away though. it is not a rough shift, it feels like some one is being over timid with a manual trans and letting out the clutch to slow haha

…there’s no hard shifting lol the transmission works great! I wonder if the dude just drove a bad unit somehow.

i test drove both back in 2022 and bought a 2023 BSBL 2.0
the 1.5 didnt work for me. if that was the only engine offered i might have gone elsewhere for another vehicle. if you want power to get on the highway or react in dangerous situations then go big..... i never had an issue with a larger motor.
i opted for the 4cyl in my 2010 escape instead of the v-6 offered.... only regret was not getting the 6. MPG was marginal between the 2 and i caved.
i still get 24mpg around town and almost 30 on highway with the 2.0 unless your really pinching pennies no reason to get the 1.5 again.....

This is all a matter of preference. If the 1.5L is good enough for you, then it's fine. I personally hated the 1.5L when we drove it, but for my girl (who is the primary driver), she felt like it was fine. I convinced her to get the 2.0L based on the fact that we were buying as opposed to leasing and based on what I have seen on the forums and the amount of recalls/issues I see in OASIS for the 1.5L, I figured it was a better option in terms of it being less problematic long-term. The additional performance was secondary for her, but definitely primary for me.

Now that she's had it for a few months, she appreciates the bigger engine. I tuned it as soon as we got it, and it is a very fun and spirited drive. Any time we go out in the BS (my F150 is huge; lifted and doesn't fit in all parking garages), I look forward to driving it. If it had the 1.5L, I'd be riding shotgun on my phone and not behind the wheel.
