My favorite car I owned was my 2020 Ford Fusion. It was a mid-grade trim but it looked aggressive and sharp and was fun to drive with the 2.0 turbo 4. It’s also in the same Velocity Blue color as my Bronco Sport.

I've had a number of beloved cars. My MO is always 'Square and Ugly'. When I go to Europe I still lose my mind over cars in the street.
My original square and ugly was a 1970 VW 411 wagon with 1500 pot seeds floating around the floor and a modern stereo cassette deck in the glove compartment. That'll always hold a place in my heart.

This is a cleaner version of mine...

My favorite (and first vehicle) was 1969 VW. Started off stock, morphed into a 70's Califonia-look street bug (dechromed, lowered, 1835cc, dual carbs, etc) and then into the Baja pictured here. Photo taken at Montana de Oro State Park near Morro Bay CA back in 1979. Cheers!

I didn't know we were counting two wheelers! 1985 Honda Nighthawk S700SC was probably my favorite. It was the Blue and black version and smooth as hell. But then again, I liked most of my motorcycles. My issue now is my wife really does care to ride on them due to the poor roads and poor drivers. The 2 door Heritage will probably be our motorcycle replacement. I'll just use the 1700 Road Star to cool off after working in the yard.

Loved, loved, loved those old Hondas. I had a CB-750K that I learned to ride on in the Black Hills. Talk about getting spoiled...

I really liked when Mercedes came out with the ML series. We got our first one, 320 I think, in 2000. We then bought 9 more over the next dozen years as we kept driving them for a couple of years and then selling them for more then we bought them for (we rarely put on 5000 miles a year). Finally, by 2015, they were surpassed by many vehicles and I went back to trucks. I did like my FX4 a lot too.

Seriously. I tried a couple of times. I can't tell you how many classic VWs I bought and sold for less than $500.
I was addicted to the smell of gasoline and dry rotted plastic. Everything from the VW Camper to Beetle convertibles. Somewhere along the way, everything got stupid.

I had a 64 Beetle, a 69 Bus, a 71 Westie, and a German Type 171 Military Jeep (the "Thing" in the U.S.).

I'd sure like to have an old Squareback or Fastback as a daily driver.

Or even a Fastback...I forgot I had a '70 Fastback with an automatic trans. I didn't have it long and sold it. It had fuel injection, constant source of fuel leaks. Sold it before I got my '69 Beetle.

It's interesting how many have owned VWs in the past. I wanted a 2nd or 3rd get Jetta for my first car but I think it had an oil leak so I kept looking. My best friend had a 4th gen Jetta TDI which was really cool. I've looked at them again over the years but just never bought one. Maybe I'll get a Jetta or Tiguan next.

I also wonder how many learned to drive a stick shift (manual trans) on a VW.
