Does anyone know what’s included in this update?! I’m wondering if it’s worth my time or not - I mostly just use the head unit to connect to CarPlay through a dongle…
The major fix is it properly clears the rwdata partition. Every time you plug your iPhone in to use CarPlay, files are created and stored in the rwdata partition on the APIM. When this fills up all kinds of issues occur.

If none of the current bugs in the software are causing me any real anxiety, is there any reason not to just wait until this update is available via Wi-Fi?

We really are not sure when the Wi-Fi update will be available.

If no issues, I would wait. My wife's BS is running 22200. No rush for me to update it.

I was having significant, ongoing issues with 22251 in my FE.

After the update is complete using the USB flash drive, connect your vehicle to your Wi-Fi network and check for updates to Sync.

This will update your Sync version with Ford.
I was dumb and reformatted the USB drive before saving that xml file.

I'll try this but I'm having issues connecting to both my home wifi and my iPhone's hot spot.

Also... I didn't do any resets before installing this. Will that be an issue? Should I do a reset now?

I didn't see it in the direction and when I was about to do it it said I would lose subscription information, but now I realized I'm not subscribed to anything.

Just updated mine. We will see if it resolves the issues I've been having lately. Mine was refusing to save some of my settings like night mode and radio station and would reset them each start up.

Are you running Build 23188 now?

I could not pair my phones, so I did a Master Reset.

Being a long time IT/Network person, I've always been leery of updates, esp if there isn't a change list, with a reason for each, because you don't know what they are doing to YOUR property. It seems there are 147 addons or changes in this update, but with no explanation. I don't see why they won't tell us outright.

TBH, I won't update until I know more. Ford may be honest, but why risk your security and privacy?

I'm 100% updated and I think I let Ford know, also!

I did a soft reboot of the HU and reboot my iPhone. I can't remember which wifi I hooked up to but I was able to. I had to move my BS to another part of the house. I think the access point nearest to where I was parked as connection issues sometimes.

It's never too late to find out you're an old dog who can learn new tricks. ?
Holy smokes Mrmike, someone older than me. I feel rejuvenated. Appreciate your input on this forum..

We have great car memory's right?

Porta white walls, glass packs, baby moons, flat head V8's, 18 cent a gallon gas. The list is endless.

I should buy a [expletive] lottery ticket. It actually created the log file and I was able to upload it on the website. The maps can wait until tomorrow.

Yep for me too. But i hedged my bets and after installing 23188, I did the check for latest Sync update while in my bronco sport (said it was up-to-date) then I uploaded the log file to the Ford website.

First time since Oct 2022 the Ford website shows Sync is up-to-date in my ‘22 Badlands.

Same with me. I installed 23188 in my '23 OBX last week. The My Ford site finally showed it as updated. For a long time, it said both my cars needed updates, but when you checked the vehicles, they said they were up to date. Now if could just get the update installed in my wife's Ecosport.

Like others, after uploading the xml file I received a message stating something about it being corrupt and it will be checked by someone and my update status will be set to updated.

I did check through Wi-Fi after that, and received a message in the vehicle screen that my vehicle was up to date. That didn't change my online status at Ford.com.

A week passed and my update status had not changed (profile at Ford.com), so I tried checking through Wi-Fi in the vehicle again, received a message again that vehicle was up to date (as expected).

This time at Ford.com my vehicle now shows as current. The second time checking through Wi-fi seems to have done it. No idea if it's because I tried again after a few days, or simply the second time made a difference.

Best of luck to all of you. I think next time (as others mentioned) I'll skip trying to upload the confirmation file to Ford.com and just go check for updates on Wi-fi instead to get the confirmation for Ford.
