Wait so Apple CarPlay only lets you see the temperature for a split second? I use Android Auto and its up for at least 2 seconds. Granted short, but if I am driving I shouldnt be paying attention to the AC temp setting and just cranking the power dial from low and higher. And that still stays on the screen for at least 2 seconds.
B-B-B-But the '21s have the temperature displayed on the knobs ALL THE TIME. Anything less is unacceptable.

I'm curious if the factory leather wrapped steering wheel has the heating element in it...meaning that if this cluster were swapped in would one gain a heated wheel?

I'd expect that the wheels are different but with the relatively low cost of the heating element I would hope they make just one variation of the leather wheel.

Weekend success!

Tested all of the functions and they all work. For me personally, so much better, I've always had a temperature display in my previous cars. Took 1.5 hours total.
Nice work. You are more brave than I.

Yes if you have the part number would be interesting in getting/ordering it, if not now, then down the road. Also does my cupholder have a blue light in it too? I haven't noticed, guess i'mma go look.

Wow yes I’m impressed! I do like the temp readouts as they look nice, but I’m not not enough to consider trying this as it looks so invasive. Nice work!

It’s not very long but honestly, I didn’t put a stop watch to it. Would rather see it in a banner all the time but..that’s not the way it’s done. Not worth 300+ to me to change it though.

Nice work on the controls swap! I’m curious, in this before picture where are you routing that USB cable to? My wife uses CarPlay often and this looks so much cleaner than keeping a cable stuffed in that lower cubby.
I bought an 8 inch Lightning cable. Works great. Don’t see the little box and still can charge the phone if needed.

Part Number on the back of the module was M1PT-18C612-GE. Ford part numbers are weird and I think someone posted the real part number that you can use to find it on the website.

I purchased the cup holder with the ambient lighting from another thread on here and installed it.

Part was only $100 on eBay and I am selling my old part for more than that, cost was moot and only time was spent basically.

Am I the only one that has dual display on the upper corners of my screen?

I wonder if they tweaked the software because of the lack of hardware.

I got em. Works fine for me. Not good enough for a tiny minority that have seen the old knobs with the temp readouts.

We all do, but not when using Apple CarPlay
