We like the 17" BS/BB wheels. I purchased one to use as a spare when we get new tires.

I really don't care for any of the sport wheels. Have a 2021 BL with 17" carbonized gray wheels.

I guess I'm old and old school. I've had 3 Escapes and all have had the Hyper silver wheels.

That color would be my
preference. Not into any dark colored wheels on any vehicle. A machined surface fits my taste. JMO

@wireman first and foremost, thank you for your service. The machine finish is still very popular. That gives you the silverish look.
Trying to find a lighter color and/or machined surface in an off road looking wheel hasn't been very successful that fits my taste and my vehicle.

I still have the tires that came with the 2023 Outer Banks: Michelins. I will run them until they need replacement. So far, I have no complaints; I live in Florida with no snow or freezing roads. Also, I've not done any off-roading with them.

I love the heritage wheels but I think they only go good if you have the paint job too. I would say the badlands steelies would go good on any trim and with them being 17 in I think they'd work better for off-road and they be cheaper when you're looking for aftermarket tires. And I personally just don't really like big rims. Also I like to have a decent sidewall even on sports cars.

In reading through these posts, it's obvious as to why there are different rim styles. Different strokes for different folks.

It's unfortunate that Ford doesn't give buyers the option of different wheel choices rather than model specific ones.

I personally didn't care for the OBX wheels at all. I bought a set of take-off BB 17's and love the look. It has a better ride too. And, as far as the stock tires on each, the Michelin's on the 18's were toast at 17000 miles and were terrible in snow. The Conti's on the 17's resist hydroplaning better, but didn't have much of a winter here in N WV/W PA to try them in the snow.

Can anyone with a First Edition confirm those Y pattern rims OP posted are correct? I thought the rims were a black version of the badland rims?

I don’t have the FE but yes those are a black version:

M-1007K-BS17GB: 2021-2022 Ford Bronco Sport 17-inch wheel kit: MSRP $1,270, four wheels, TPMS sensors with an activation tool kit, four Bronco center caps. Recommended tires: Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 235/65/R17.

Look at the picture in this link and what op posted. These have a sharp v shape like the badlands. Op posted repainted base edition Y rims.

I don't think any of the "stock" wheels are especially bad. The only thing wrong with them is that everyone has the same ones. That's why I run my Chrome Verde mags whenever the weather permits. I mount snow tires on my "stock" wheels for winter use. View attachment 36364
Now those I like. Love the chrome which is why I'm not overly fond of the original 17" BB wheels I have now.
