Even though i have had a few issues, I still love My 21 OBX. Had the rear differential changed and the catalytic converter changed. I am glad I got an extended warranty. Even with the couple of problems. I am still happy with the vehicle. Thank goodness I haven't had the water pump problem...
I had the same problem. It started around 40000 miles. I mentioned the fumes when I had it in for an unrelated issue and they said they couldn't duplicate it. I think they blew it off because it wasn't the reason I had it there.
I took it to another nearby dealer and they gave me a horrible...
Update:
I am now part of the Cracked Cat Converter club. I started getting exhaust smell in the cabin about six months ago. I could lessen it by putting the climate control into recirculate mode. That was not a good remedy because recirc times out.
I took it in to the dealer for an...

I might have found the source, and it was self inflicted. A couple months ago I adjusted the rubber bumpers on the lift gate out. I adjusted them back where they were yesterday and it dramatically reduced the smell. I think I inadvertently messed up the seal and the exhaust was coming in...
To humor them, I put the normal paper type back in for the cabin and engine filters. Haven't driven it since I did that last night. I don't think it will make a difference.
I copied and pasted this on another related post:
I have the same problem on my '21 OBX. Exhaust smell in cabin when idling. I can make it quit by pushing the Recirculate button on the climate control. Don't smell it when moving. I just picked it up from a second dealer. First dealer, where i...

On the first visit, they installed a new vent tube and replaced the fluid in the rear differential.
The dealer acknowledged that it didn't fix the issue and they had Ford provide a new differential.
I had to wait a couple of weeks for them to get the part, but was able to drive it.
Once...
My 21 OBX started doing this a couple of months ago. Taking it to the dealer on 10/30. Glad I got an extended warranty, mine has 45000 miles. I have the exact same symptoms, grinding type noise, especially turning right from a stop.
I personally didn't care for the OBX wheels at all. I bought a set of take-off BB 17's and love the look. It has a better ride too. And, as far as the stock tires on each, the Michelin's on the 18's were toast at 17000 miles and were terrible in snow. The Conti's on the 17's resist...
It was me that had the heat shield rubbing the rear drive shaft. I noticed that the drive shaft had a "shiny ring" around it because of the rubbing. I originally thought that I had a rear diff problem. It only made the noise on hard acceleration. I was able to duplicate it a lot when in...
I had a grinding/scraping noise coming from the rear end last summer. I feared the worst, like the rear diff going bad. Mine seemed to only make the grinding/scraping noise when the rear was engaged, like at a quick take off or using Sport mode. After poking around underneath, I found a shiny...
I recently did a couple of things.
In early January, I found a good deal on a set of take-off Big Bend carbonized grey 17" wheels with new tires on them. Never really did like the looks of the Outer Banks wheels, especially with Kodiak Brown. Sold them locally to a silver Base model owner...
