I changed both the RDU and PTU fluids this weekend. My 21 OBX has 65000 miles now. I had the RDU unit replaced under warranty at around 46000. My RDU fluid after 18000 miles was very black, so I would recommend 30000 miles max. The PTU fluid, which is original was still brown, but was pretty...
Mine was covered, but I also have an extended warranty to 100000 miles. Pretty sure it will be covered under emissions.
Ford's emissions warranty covers parts that reduce emissions from a vehicle's engine. The warranty period varies by vehicle type and the parts covered:
Passenger cars and...
I have found them to be loudest at 30 to 40 MPH. Not a deal breaker though. Not quite as dramatic as that quote said. They are about the same as AT tires on other vehicles I've been in. I mainly bought them because I wanted a more aggressive tread for winter(even though it hasn't been harsh here...
I have had them since Nov'23. They handle good, but are noisy. Tread seems to be holding up pretty good. I have about 24000 on them and rotate every 5000 or so. Also they are decent looking.
I did the opposite on my OBX. Got BB 17's from Craigs List. Thought the carbonized gray looked better with my Kodiak brown. And wanted a taller side wall tire.
Even though i have had a few issues, I still love My 21 OBX. Had the rear differential changed and the catalytic converter changed. I am glad I got an extended warranty. Even with the couple of problems. I am still happy with the vehicle. Thank goodness I haven't had the water pump problem...
I had the same problem. It started around 40000 miles. I mentioned the fumes when I had it in for an unrelated issue and they said they couldn't duplicate it. I think they blew it off because it wasn't the reason I had it there.
I took it to another nearby dealer and they gave me a horrible...
Update:
I am now part of the Cracked Cat Converter club. I started getting exhaust smell in the cabin about six months ago. I could lessen it by putting the climate control into recirculate mode. That was not a good remedy because recirc times out.
I took it in to the dealer for an...

I might have found the source, and it was self inflicted. A couple months ago I adjusted the rubber bumpers on the lift gate out. I adjusted them back where they were yesterday and it dramatically reduced the smell. I think I inadvertently messed up the seal and the exhaust was coming in...
To humor them, I put the normal paper type back in for the cabin and engine filters. Haven't driven it since I did that last night. I don't think it will make a difference.
I copied and pasted this on another related post:
I have the same problem on my '21 OBX. Exhaust smell in cabin when idling. I can make it quit by pushing the Recirculate button on the climate control. Don't smell it when moving. I just picked it up from a second dealer. First dealer, where i...

On the first visit, they installed a new vent tube and replaced the fluid in the rear differential.
The dealer acknowledged that it didn't fix the issue and they had Ford provide a new differential.
I had to wait a couple of weeks for them to get the part, but was able to drive it.
Once...
