Acqusition fee applys to leases only. Not a dealer mark-up
I didn't say dealer mark-up. They are a manufacturer mark-up. Low lease payments that are low because there is a large down payment are misleading as well. Bait and switch. Why would you ever make a down payment on an asset you don't own?

So I was pretty hyped for this and my first impressions are meh...the thing I was looking most forward to they didn't deliver, more ground clearance, a factory lift.

As I have a few moments to wake up from my Sunday Funday haze there's more to it then meh. Ford made the car more customizable with the AUX switches which is nice. People have been customizing their cars and Ford has responded. The bull bar and better bashguards are also wins. The interior touches to make the car more Big Bronco like are a win as well. The extra goat mode? Just another forgettable bullet point.

In terms of hardware, again, I wanted a lift and I imagine this was a serious discussion within Ford because its self-evident the car needs more clearance. It would be intersting to hear what that discussion was because bumping up that up a half inch over the stock Badlands is very meh. The new shocks are probably a substantial upgrade so thats a win. New bigger tires yea thats cool not sure they're a substantial upgrade over the stock size but bigger tires certainly help off road and navigating obstacles.

People were screaming for SYNC 4 and they finally got it...but they also lost HVAC controls. Those are buried in the screen now so thats a big loss. Don't fix whats broken but Ford seemed intent on following the car industry inertia of burying things in a screen. If there is one thing people universally think is worse its having HVAC controls in a touch screen. Better ACC is also a win.

So my initial impression was meh. My secondary impression is enh. There are some thoughtful touches in here and its clear Ford put a lot of thought and did what they could but the Sasquatch package, despite being as striking as it is, doesn't quite move my needle.

From my perspective, as a guy in Colorado I dont see many of these things as substantial upgrades except for the shocks. I see a lot of cosmetic upgrades and some downgrades with the loss of HVAC controls and thats about it.

No 360+ with Adaptive cruise control?
It looks like 360+ with adaptive cruise control and lane centering is standard across the board. There's an additional 360 2.0 package that includes things like front parking sensors and rear automatic braking.

Overall I like the additions. The new tech brings the BS up to par with some of the competition. I love the Bring Your Own Device cubby with dual USB ports in the top of the dash.

I also want to see the order guide to see what was decontented.

lots of good points here...but nothing that would make me buy 2nd BS over the 2 door Bronco....at this point. still looking at the 2 door for 25 now....once i see where finances fall.
i do like the upgrades to make it more "beefy" but agree that the ride height just seems like an afterthought....should have been like 2"-3" lift if it was SAS based....
the big screen is big turn off for me. i know ALL cars are going to that but i just dont want that in my car too... and the HVAC controls buried. BIG red flag for me. but with me being 50+yrs old i found out at Ford Carlisle couple years ago that i wasnt the "target" group they were looking for....
(basically i was told they dont care about what i feel/say because im too old for them)
so i guess im too old to buy their cars then.... and maybe i should go somewhere else??
that statement just rubbed me the wrong way. i never thought about looking at other MFGs but now it gets me curious what i "could" buy somewhere else.....
(fyi, i been buying ford since 1990, good deals, treated well, and mostly success with my vehicles in the maintenance dept)

I would love to know if the 2025 bumper can be put on the older models as well. Even the fender flares. Aside from that, nothing stands out to me from a guy who has a lifted BB with bigger tires already..

I was expecting a lot more than this. I would liked to have seen even larger tires with unique flares like on the full size Bronco. Not for me. I'll stick with the base Badlands.
I think it would be extremely tough to get bigger tires on these vehicles without modifying the fenders and bumpers drastically. The front to back dimension is too tight and there isn't much room if any to make that dimension larger.

Sadly, I suspect the new bumper will be difficult to retrofit, as it's not only the bumper that's different, but also some of the trim around it. The additional steel on the lower front is a very welcome addition, though.

With that said, I hope the side tiedowns can be added to older models. Unfortunately, I'd have to imagine there's some extra bracing that's not there by default, though. I don't see how the current clip-only attachment could support much weight. I'd love to have that be a functional part in some way, though.

It will be interesting to see what can be easily swapped onto older models, anyway. Suspension perhaps? I'm sure it will be awhile before parts are readily available, though.

I suspect the big winner here will be the Outerbanks - these will sell like hot cakes with the Saq package....for around $40k you pretty much walk out of the door with a fully loaded BS + a nice off road package!

As someone who has taken off the Older front bumper I'm going to imagine it's possible to swap them, but it would likely require replacing everything including headlights. Chances are it wouldn't attach fully either, depending on how that new bush bumper is attached, there could be more integration to the unibody and the bumper for proper crash characteristics and reinforcement.

And I fortunately, having also taken off the fake vendor vents, our older models are only held on by two pressure clips and likely would need further reinforcement to get that tie down rating

I’m curious about the performance of the 2.0 after the reduction in power and other modifications.

It looks like it now features port fuel injection as well as direct.

I could not consider anything other than another Badlands as I really don’t care for the 1.5.
