My car is three years old and is just about to turn 40K and heres kinda what I think about it.
Before I get into that...I live in Denver and I have one car. I use it to go fishing at high alpine lakes and streams in and around the Front Range. I car camp with it. It was the preferred dog car...
Yea its interesting. I got curious as I've said the price for the 25 Badlands with the SAS is mid size truck territory...and it is. I went to the builder...bc apparently I have the time. And you can build out an Ranger XLT FX4 with ACC, rear locker and the better engine for the same price.
Yea Ford is asking quite a lot for a CUV with cramped rear leg room. I love my car, more then most it seems, but at nearly $50K the car is is another game, the midsize truck and SUV game. There are a lot of other cars out there at that pricepoint and I'm not sure if the car holds its value...
So I was pretty hyped for this and my first impressions are meh...the thing I was looking most forward to they didn't deliver, more ground clearance, a factory lift.
As I have a few moments to wake up from my Sunday Funday haze there's more to it then meh. Ford made the car more customizable...
If Ford offers the factory lift...yep I'll be taking them up on that. Possibly the better suspension too which may be required for the lfit anyway.
Excited for tomorrow and see the official release of what it is.
I think I was like one of the first people to get the AT/4Ws when they released this year. Like I posted a pic of the tires and people were shocked and wanted to know more.
I'm coming from the stock ATRs so I can only compare those to them unfortunately. I live in Denver and have drive them in...
Ford teased on Instagram that they are releaseing a BroncoSport Sasquatch Package apparently to be released on 8/26.

Its interesting because I think Ford proved that people want a more capable crossover, that people who want a CUV may want...
I've done some big trips in my Badlands. San Diego-> Montana, San Diego->Denver multiple times, San Diego-> Mammoth Lakes, so lots of long miles and higher altitude driving and many more small trips here in the Front Range and the car has done consistently well.
One of the things I really like...
The second time it happened I contacted Ford Customer Service, while it was bricked who confirmed it was happening because a software update was being processed and the car wouldn't start again until that had been uploaded. Unfortunately for me I was in an area of bad cell reception at the time...
I've had my car for a little over two years now and I dont regret it. I haven't wanted a Maverick, tbh I think a very small truck looks a little weird, and I definitely haven't wanted a different CUV or a Subaru instead (not sure I'll ever spend my money on a car with a CVT)
And its good to see...
I want to get out there this summer and things are looking good. Always helpful to headout with someone as well. I already have tow straps just in case and have a few trails in mind.
Last week, when I was filling up, I decided I would do a run on eco mode. Every where I drove would be in eco. I know it effectively is just engine and throttle mapping but I wanted to see what if any difference I would experience. And I haven't seen much of a change. I'm getting closer to 25mpg...
