When I take my BS in for its first oil change, I am getting this done. I was backing up the other day and that bitch was howling like a banshee when backing up.

Yes for sure , mine only started after owning it since January of 21 . It is a no charge repair. But the parts are 9.95 if you bought them.

My built June '21 and no brake noise. Some sports have the noise some don't.

Ford saw the complaints, went off and found root cause, and now there is a fix.

Mine was built earlier this year. It has the issue. Does it pretty much every time you back up for the first time after sitting. Makes sense what they found. Was never a Hugh deal for me but it is rather loud.

Wow
What a difference in Ford dealerships. Mine didn’t even want to talk to me about the brake noise problem. I’ve been following this problem on the forum and it appears there are quite a few others that have been blown off by their dealerships also. Are the bushings a new design or is ford just installing new bushing with grease this time? Anyone have a part #? I’m replacing the bushing myself. I’m done with Ford service.

When I got my first oil change, I asked about this noise and got a runaround explanation that it was normal buildup being knocked off and nothing could be done. So if I go in now with this TSB number, can I expect they might do something about it? My first BS didn’t have this problem, but the 2022 sure does.

Looks like caliper pin bushing which indicate calipers were sticking not releasing causing brakes to drag hence noise.

Some of the videos I have seen where sounds like tug boat horn in a harbor certainly seemed like brakes not disengaging.

While all the complaints been rolling in looks like Ford took it seriously and found a root cause fix.
I believe at the factory they were not greased initially. That’s my 2 cents .

This bushing just was removed from my sport , no grease .

Part number below in my mechanic dealer notes. . You can clearly see no grease on bushing, new parts are different in appearance .

Had the TSB done and it didn’t fix the issue. Ford dealer says they won’t do anymore. I think there are enough people with the issue that a class action law suit would be possible. This is ridiculous.

Amazing grease on caliper slide pins is still an issue.

I and others had to replace our Escape rear brakes early. Did the rear brakes on my '14 Escape at only 31,983 miles in May 2017. No grease on the caliper slide pins.

Just did the rears again. 98,454 miles. Second set of rear brakes lasted 66,471 miles.

Hey there! I can look into your Bronco’s noise concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

If you are mechanically inclined and are capable of disassembling the rear brake assemblies, I would inspect the bushings, caliper slide pins, pads and rotors for wear.

Assuming the parts inspected are still in serviceable condition (not damaged or heavily worn).
I think it would be worth trying to clean the affected parts and sparingly add the appropriate brake grease to the slide pins and bushings then reassemble.
Basically you are performing a brake job without replacing the pads, rotors or other parts unless needed.

This may work to eliminate or lessen the rear brake howl some people are experiencing when backing up under certain conditions, typically when cold.
