When my auto start stop was not working I would get the message not available vehicle charging.
That was when my original battery was on its way out. After my battery was replaced with a Motorcraft AGM the auto start stop is basically transparent, it always works unless I turn it off or I'm in sport mode or an off road mode.

It’s possible , if the weather is cold enough, , for the auto-start stop to be temperature disabled due to it’s algorithm to allow heating/ defrost to continue un interrupted.

Yes, If this is the case the Auto Start/Stop message when at a stop would indicate that it is not on because of heating/cooling or iirc in the winter months low outside temperature. At least with my BS which I drive daily the Auto Start/Stop activates even in temperatures in the low 30's so far. If you have been driving regularly and the Auto Start/Stop continues to say not on because vehicle charging and outside temperature is in the 30's I would keep an eye on the system to see if it activates. If after days of not activating I would have the battery checked. With these modern AGM batteries even if the state of charge is low enough that the Auto Start/Stop does not activate the BS will start normally until it doesn't without warning.

It's not clear from the 25 owners manual if the Auto Start/Stop is available to select in the myview or settings menus. That part of the PDF owners manual changed and is less specific in the 25 owners manual. Can someone with a 25 BS confirm that the Auto Start/Stop status message screen is still available?

My wife's 24 BS is on her 3 battery. Changed in Oct 25,November 25 due to vehicle completely dead. Could be a bad battery Ford AGM batteries are junk. I think there's something on the terminal wires that sometimes needs resetting. battery monitor system...I could be wrong though.

It doesn’t help to reset the BMS battery monitor system.. you are right the Ford AGM batteries are junk depending on the low cost supplier Ford buys from

It's clear from all the threads on every Ford vehicle forum I'm on that Ford's batteries can't supply enough blood to the vehicles' vampires. So my Golden Rule is "when parked, plug in." Which I do with my NOCO Genius2D set-ups in every one of the vehicles I have (even a non-Ford UTV).

Whether this is to train us to move to EVs (hahah) or from lousy batteries or whatever, I haven't had a single problem with any of my batteries. Almost 3 years on several, pushing 5 years on another.

If you park outside, a solar panel on the dash is a great idea. I have a Superduty with 2 batteries that I don't drive very often. I leave a 20 watt panel (with charge controller) on the dash, so when I do drive it, it starts right up.

Auto start/stop is disabled in both of my Fords. However, whether you are a fan of auto start/stop or not, when it stops working, it is a clear red flag that something is not working the way it should. If it did stop working due to a deteriorating battery or the charging system not doing its job, then sooner than later, more issues will pop up.
