It has been a hard thing for me to not get "Red 10" angry that cars - due to the total involvement of computers and software installed in them - are forever in Beta. Remember the good ole days when cars just did car things...? No getting around the fact that cars are orders of magnitude better...

The short answer is: it's impossible to fully disable telematics. Even if you could, the data is still downloaded when you go to the dealership. Until DC decides to protect personal privacy from all the bad players (tech, auto makers, etc.) instead of filling their campaign coffers from them...

Excellent chart. Thank you. I have the 2.0 which uses 5w-30 so didn't occur to me about the 1.5. Further, my local dealership keeps making noises that they don't use 5w-20 anymore. That Ford went all-in on 5w-30 (which is why I made my initial comment). Now I can say, "say what?!?"

I thought Ford switched its recommendation to 5w-30...? (Not that there's anything wrong with 5w-20. I had used it for years on a previous truck.)
