Unless sales drop, I did not read that it could be dropped, but rather use a different platform other than the current C2:

Bronco Sport will continue to ride on the on the Ford C2 platform through 2030
My local dealer have 42 on his lot now. Sales have dropped. They are pricing themselves out of the market. As my lease is coming up for renewal, I'm getting multiple messages a day to contact them.

Sync 4 is pretty much inevitable for the mid-cycle refresh. Sync 3 launched in 2015. Sync 3 is fine, it's a far more capable system than MyFord Touch (Sync 2) was and far less buggy, but automakers have ambitions of improving the stock radio experience for people who aren't using Android Auto or Apple Carplay.

Offering Sync 4 doesn't necessarily require a dashboard redesign either. They have offered Sync 4 in 8 inch APIMs (design of older cars - brains of the APIM are on the back of the touchscreen) for the F150/F250/Explorer/Edge before. They would merely have to change the APIM under the dash in the BS and they could chug along with the same eight inch screen.

They could redesign the dash to accommodate a larger Sync 4 screen, which might involve moving or loss of the little cubby below the radio... but they could also split the difference and make the display screen stick slightly more off the dash, and they could use a different arrangement for climate & radio controls too. Another option is to make climate controls part of the screen, which is done at least on the 2024 Escape PHEV:

I don't think they'll go for the giant 14"+ Sync 4A screens they're shoving into some pricier Fords like the expedition. And my guess is on the mid-cycle refresh, they just change the APIM to Sync 4 and leave the radio display & controls the same.
Sync 4 has been out since 2019. It was claimed to be the replacement , yet years late4 3 is still the norm. Some reports have said Sync wsas going away to be replaced by a Google version. That was in 2021. So who knows at thias point.

There's no reason not to return to a conventional shifter. The dash could be rearranged to avoid space conflict. Move everything up wards, get rid of that mid dash bin.
Again, these are just my ideas for the 2025 refresh.

Search "ford kuga interior pictures manual transmission" to get an idea of what it might look like.

Kuga is the Escape in Europe. Escape and Bronco Sport are the same from the center of the dash through the storage bin.

Sync 4 was replacing, but just as Sync 3 was rolled out to different vehicles in varying model years and not all at once, Sync 4 is more of the same. Certainly the rate at which Sync 4 is rolling out has been hampered by COVID era chip shortages, and lower sticker price vehicles like the Maverick and the BS have been "saddled" with Sync 3 as a result. With chip shortages easing, a migration to Sync 4 is likely.

Even the Mach E still uses Sync 4, and Ford has put substantial investment into it. The originally planned switch of the Mach-E from Sync 4 to Android Automotive in the 2022 model year was delayed to 2023, and apparently, that still has not shipped and has no updated ETA. The Mach E 2024 order guide still bills Sync 4A.

It's possible that Ford does ship the BS refresh with Android Automotive in the midyear refresh in 2025, but it would be surprising given the market segment of the BS, and that it would likely be one of the first models with the updated infotainment. I imagine the BS will get Sync 4 as a "leftover" and that more expensive (and profitable) Ford/Lincoln vehicles get Android Automotive. Just as they got Sync 4 and the BS was relegated to Sync3.

(I will note based on what I see from other people, many actually prefer Sync 4 to Android automotive... and honestly, I am more of a fan of the Sync 3/Sync 4 approach of turning your car's screen into a "dumb pipe" that feeds from a phone I upgrade every 1-3 years, rather than a radio I might have for ten plus with no official support to swap.)

I asked myself, would I trade in for the '25 if they do make it more off-road capable?
Probably not. I don't intend to do any off road adventures beyond some dirt and gravel roads. My interest in the Badlands is primarily for the 2.0 liter engine, such as I have in my '17 Escape.
I stopped driving stick some years ago, about 10 years after I shattered my kneecap and arthritis made driving a stick difficult. That was one consideration, and the other was the increase in traffic density in my commute to work. There used to be 1 or 2 traffic signals on the route. Now there are 5 and instead of a 20 minute commute, it is 45 minutes or longer, with the last 5 miles in stop and go. That was rough on the clutch and my knee. I'm retired now, so only drive that route to my doctor and dentist. I stay away from that route during rush hour when I can.
Same. I've done some surprisingly involved rock climbing with mine, and in it's current config, even without a lift and extra plates, it's handled it just fine. At this point if I want to keep doing it I'll get a project jeep.

Ford Authority has a new article of the 2025 test mule with some newer pictures showing it has side mirror cameras and the new big Sync 4 center screen
Makes sense as it's a refresh model time. Add a 2.0L option to the OBX and I may be in for one. I'll take off a lot of the deleted items I installed for the '25. :)

Here's a pic of the 2024 Escape Hybrid dash:

I can see the BS getting that Sync4 screen. Seats, dash gauges not so much.

I'm aware of the Kuga.
I used to be a regular on the Escape forum, until they stopped sending email notifications unless one became a paying subsriber.

Yeah I just made a new thread about it…oops…I didn’t think about posting it here since I stopped getting notifications about this thread a long time ago for some reason, so I had thought it had died off.

I just wonder how that screen will look since unlike the Escape, the air vents are right up tight on the sides of the current Sync3 screen in the Sport.
