Getting 28+ mpg in mixed driving after nearly 5k miles. What I expected (CRV or RAV 4 I believe get better mpg if that is the top concern - imho BS more fun) Did pop a K&N filter in there, but that doesn't provide an earth shattering difference :sunglasses:

Well... perhaps I'm ignorant... but ignorance in this case is true bliss... only have 1700 miles on my Badlands, but if the readout on the dash is to be believed... I'm getting between 33 and 37 on the freeway (avg 65mph) and City at about 25 to 27....

And fill ups with this small tank aren't even painful compared to my trade in.... 2012 Dodge Ram with 5.7ltr Hemi... 14 city and 19 highway, plus a 26 gallon tank to fill...eek! : (
33 and 37? Do you live in someplace like Florida?

It's hard to say why you are getting poor mileage with the information or lack of you put in your post. I would rule out any mechanical or sensor issues due to the low mileage, it's possible but unlikely. Still if u suspect something get it checked out, it's under warrenty. The biggest factors to consider are personal driving habits, city/hwy time, idle time, ie: if the engine is running but tires are not rolling equals zero mpg. There are other factors to consider but they have a lessor impact on mpg.
Personally I'm getting 40 hwy and 31-34 city mpg. I've got a OB BS with 6.4K on it. This may or may not matter compared to yours.
This is what I have done to get that. I use full synthetic oil with a oil additive, I dualed off the exhaust which opened it up a bit plus shaved 10 lbs off vehicle weight. I changed out the OEM air filter with a K&N filter. This weekend I will install a Catch Can which might add to mpg but at the least won't hurt it either. I also increased my tire pressure to 36psi and lastly started using a fuel additive that no bullshit increased my milaege a minimum of 15%. My mpg goes up every tank full by using this, another story worthy of a separate post. Plus I drive the speed limit, use cruise as much as possible, use auto stop and generally make a concerted effort to maximize mpg by driving sensibly without getting in the way of others.
Hope that helps or gives you food for thought.
This is my tire pressure after getting back from dealer today after doing a multipoint inspection and claiming they set pressures front and rearšŸ˜³

Wow, looks like someone needs training. Best to at least have the same in all four. I pumped mine up to 36, I immediately noticed a slightly harsher ride. Some people go to 40 which must feel like Fred Flinstone tires.

Iā€™m getting 23.5 with my 2.0 and thatā€™s mostly city/highway commuting to work. Basically what they said it would. Iā€™m not a practitioner of hyper mileage. Drive mostly in normal and not easy on the brakes or gas pedal. My son in laws RAV4 TRD gets 35. There are better gas mileage SUVā€™s if thatā€™s your desire.

Op, I would rather walk than own, Much less drive a Geo metro or any other scrawny cheap car.
My three banger is a very good AWD. Better than any AWD that came before.
NOT some tiny match box crappy riding ugly dawg death trap !
My overall average mpgā€™s in these Appalachian mountains is TWENTY FIVE and Iā€™m not granny driving.
This thing out rides almost every vehicle Iā€™ve owned and holds spot TWO in the quiet cabin at highway speeds category. With the top spot going to my beloved and always missed 1969 4 Door Chevrolet Impala.
22 mpg, your an amateur.
When I drive carefully in my BS I can maintain 27 mpgā€™s. IN THESE Mountains !!
My back up car still has ice cold air at 210,000 miles,
Itā€™s a 2004 Escape Platinum model.
Itā€™s still very reliable.
Hey ! go get a Subaru !
Youā€™ll get 30 mpg but when one wheel looses traction only one other wheel gets power.
ATā€™s useless
Ok I am done :ā€™P

Itā€™s embarrassing in 2022 that car manufacturers canā€™t make a car that gets at least 30 mpg. Especially with a 3 cylinder. I owned a 3 cylinder Geo Metro in 1989 that got 40 mpg city and over 50 mpg on the highway. Weā€™ve regressed since then.

Car manufacturers need to do much betterā€¦.especially with gas at $6.00 a gallon!
I have a Badlands and in city traffic I get 21-22mpg if I drive it lightly. Itā€™s not a huge concern because Iā€™m usually not going very far. Gas prices are $6 a gallon at Costco and $6.50+ elsewhere.

Actually I live at approx. 3700 feet, and I haven't tracked mileage and fillups... but like I said if the read out provided by the display on the Bronco Sport is to be trusted, I'm happily ignorant .... especially with todays rising gas prices : )

Some people like to argue just for the sake of arguing. Here's the proof

Now this milage avg is only since I filled up about 100 miles ago. It will go down now that it's the weekend, I'll be city driving till Monday morning. It'll slowly edge up to 40 again by next Tuesday. I live in Southern Florida, no hills here going up or down 150 miles in every direction. Its flat as a table everywhere.

good mileage is as much about the driver as it is the vehicle.

after reading your string of negative posts I'm wondering why you still own a Sport.
very good resale, get something else to complain about

I still have no complaints about my BL. Bought it used, paid too much, funest car ever (and I ran british sports cars for 20 years)! Took a ride today, 175 miles, 6400' to sea level and back, mostly highway speeds. 87 octane fuel, got 25.4 mpg. Also got to test the "follow the leader cruise control" (how come the avatar for the vehicle in front of you is a Big Bronco instead of a Sport), went from open highway at 75mph, down to full stop, and back to highway at 70+ without touching the brake or throttle! Loved it! Love my Baby Bronco!

Iā€™ve got 40 psi set in mine. The ride feels just fine.

Nice! The best I ever got was just above 41 MPG on a 34 mile trip.
