This is a know issue on the Maverick forum, always the pass/rear window. Solution is replacing the drivers switch cluster. While I do not know for a fact it's the same exact switch, it is likely.

Get the leaking CV seal replaced and lubed soon to prevent wear/failure. Shop around.
Leaking rear shocks should not strand you. Do they still function as intended? I'm an old guy but would replace them myself when the weather turns, easy job, watch a video.

Maverick Lariat Lux package has this heater. It shares the outside mirror heat switch, both on at same time.
It requires this windshield designation with heat wire embedded in glass.
Diode Dynamics BS upgrade kit around $240. Definatly brighter but still SAE approved.

True on the Tremor, some internals were relocated to allow the BS style bumper. As no one has hands on yet so we'll be wait and see for a few weeks. I've got one on order but it will be awhile.

I'd add that throwing tax money at this problem has one benefit, removing some offshore players hand from around our jewels. Not only for auto production but national defense.
To answer your both of your questions, yes it's possible.
What you need is a SYNC 3 APIM Module. They run $300-400 on ebay for a Ford OEM part. Vender will need your vin to pre-program into the APIM.
