My 2021 Bronco Sport only had 30k on it & the windows switches are already peeling off (silver covers). How do the get fixed? Are they under warranty?

U are out of the factory warranty period which is 36k miles or 36 months whichever comes first

Peeling switches was something you should have had the dealership fix before you reached the 36 month point

I doubt you are still under warrenty being a 2021 unless you bought an ESP warrenty from Ford.

They do the same thing on the full size. The replacement for the set on the full size was ~$10. Hopefully the ones for the sport are inexpensive to replace as well.

Edit: guess not. Module looks to be 50-70 depending on dealer. Includes more than just the switch. Switch looks to be ~35.

not the first I've seen it happen with this style ford window switch. best to find a replacement and swap yourself. super easy to remove. pop that piece out and look for a part number so you get the right one.

My front passenger window switch has the same issue. I have not researched a solution yet.

It happened to me as well. I fixed it with my girlfriend's black nail polish. It's been like that for a year, I can't even notice it. Of course, the silver is gone and it is a black with now. No biggie for me.

On our 21 BS/BB the passenger's front door PW switch the chrome tab on the front of the switch came off & we left it that way. Not a big deal to us. Unless you stare at it & the other switches you do not even know it is missing.

happened on our old 21 BB and also my mom's 21 explorer. it tried to cut my wifes finger. hopefully they changed something after 21 or 22 to stop the chrome from peeling.

While unfortunately not applicable to the Bronco Sport this is an issue that Ford has been aware of on other Ford Vehicles for a long time.

My 2020 Ford Escape has a Customer Satisfaction Program for this very issue. It only applies to the 20 Escape.

Customer Satisfaction Program 22N17
Certain 2020 Model Year Escape and Explorer Vehicles Power Window Switch Chrome Tip Replacement.

PROGRAM TERMS
This program provides a no-cost, one-time repair (if needed) to the power window switch chrome tips for 10 years of service or 150,000 miles from the warranty start date of the vehicle, whichever occurs first.

This is a one-time repair program.

With this program Ford was only replacing the silver cap. The part from the Customer Satisfaction Program listed is the cap. The part number for the tip is listed as well as an illustration of the service repair procedure in the link which is for the original program 22N17 on the NHTSA website.

MC-10237448-0001.pdf

Ford Escape part number. Maybe the same on the Bronco Sport or parts department should be able to give you the correct number for the BS.

Those silver tips are actually a part that Ford $HOULD have left off instead of the many others they deleted on our vehicles.

That would actually require redesigning the switch which would cost Ford more than leaving it alone. A lot of the parts that Ford deletes can be added back if you have the part number because Ford does not redesign the part it was attached to.

Mine are same, but fortunately not cutting my fingers like the start button on my wife's VW. She got sliced a couple times before I just peeled all the metal off. The entire shifter bezel of that car got recalled due to the peeling metal. I think they replaced the start button as well, only to have it peel again a few years later.

This is how it looks if you just paint it with nail polish.
