Since the update my BS keeps imagining 25MPH signs and adjusting the cruise control. It is almost like it defaults to 25 if it doesn't see a sign for a while.

My 23 says it’s up to date with 22251. I got it 4 weeks ago today. I have a maintenance package on it, so I’m not going to mess with it. As far as the cruise control, I keep it on normal while in my home county. I’ll switch it to adaptive or intelligent when I go on a road trip. Until then I’ll use the brain in my skull. You know, the one that understands the speed sign with “when children are present” underneath it does not generally apply at 10pm or on Saturday and Sunday. Thus avoiding getting rear ended by the idiot riding my tail with his Charger who will eventually pass me doing 45-45 in a 30 zone?‍♀?‍♀. Living in a Ferry town it is best not to go into the town (proper) on Sunday, if you can even get there. Vehicles are constantly blocking streets and it’s a crap shoot whether you can get through. Sorry, yesterday was not fun.

Doesn't the AT&T in car wifi count as a wifi connection?
It keeps telling me I need to connect to wifi when I select auto update.
When I get home and connect to my home wifi, the checking for updates just spins nonstop for over 30 minutes.

The WiFi in your home at the location you park your bronco sport might not be as strong a WiFi connection as for other parts of your house. Spinning for over 30 minutes is slow even counting that the Ford Server might also be busy. Takes around 5-15 minutes for me in the garage.

The Hotspot in your Bronco Sport and WiFi Service are two different things. Hotspots and WiFi are often confused.

The hotspot in your Bronco Sport delivers wireless Internet connectivity (WiFi in your BS) through the wireless internet access provided by AT&T over AT&Ts cellular network. This allows you to have devices such as computers, phones, etc in your vehicle connected to WiFi while you drive (or are parked) as long as you pay for the AT&T service and are in range of AT&Ts cellular network.

The Wifi in your home is provided by a combination of your internet service provider for your home and your home WiFi router (or home WiFi mesh router in my case).

The Bronco Sport connects to WiFi for things like software downloads etc. not to the AT&T hotspot. The WiFi Service can be your home WiFi, a business location with WiFi, etc.

This link might provide a more clear explanation if mine was not so clear:

I deleted I post I made just a few minutes ago on this topic because I found my problem. But thought I would post what I was doing incorrectly in case others experience it. I use a Mac and I primarily use Safari as my browser. There is a setting in Safari that I have screen shot included below. This must be UNCHECKED otherwise safari unzips the file as part of the download which messes up the process. This is in the instructions on the ford website but I missed it the first time I downloaded the update. Figured other Mac users might miss it too.

I too did not find an XML file on my USB drive. So I came and started it up again and had it check for updates. Once it checked it started downloading something else. Screen shot below. Anyone know what this is?

Haven’t seen that specific message mentioned but since you are a new BS owner I’ll take a guess it’s a software update required for a module - a Ford tech stated on another forum that system update download’s triggered automatically or manually can be for a number of different modules in the vehicle. I do not have automatic updates enabled but whatever download that is should be fine. Ford does not widely publish specific details about software update content.

I updated via wi-fi 9/8/23. Vehicle now says I am still running 22251 AND that my software is up-to-date.
That’s a pretty good sign your vehicle is still at 22251

your 9/5/2023 post… perhaps WiFi update did fail you? USB update rocks!

Shouldn't be the latest update 23188? I downloaded with a USB stick and didn't see the update on the Ford site to 23188 until the next day or two. It did show immediately in the BS. I think you have to use accessory mode and open and close the door or something like that.

@TNFurb .. Although Nav does not update over WiFi, the file name is similar to the recent NAV 2 22 update (4U5T-14G422-CAM.tar.gz).

@TNFurb Do you have the Ford Nav in your BS?

The filename decoder ring for Sync and Navigation indicates the file is for Navigation.

Yes I do have Nav. It is due for an update which I am also trying to download to my computer. The screen shot I showed did eventually download and install. Took probably 20 minutes. I don’t think it was the map though

@TNFurb I would not have thought it was Nav but the filename pic you posted decodes as a Navigation file. Who knows.

I updated but I also didn't have an XML file to upload to Ford ...
Just updated my wife's BL. Did my FE earlier this month. Didn't have the log file to update both times. Followed your post, and it worked easily both times. Thanks!

I don't like the intelligent at all. I was on a 65 mph highway (freeway, whatever) and it picked up the 45 mph feeder sign and aggressively slowed me down.

I haven't turned it on since.

I do love the adaptive cruise control, especially when going into a small town. It'll match the person in front of me slowing down and speeding up. I just have to make sure they don't change lanes.
