Ford is aware of the battery issue. I wonder if maybe the '23 and more so the '24 models have or will have upgraded batteries.

I just went camping for the first time in my 21 BB for a week and every time I opened a door or something the fans would run for 10 minutes. I've had this car for a couple of months. I was worried that the battery would die. What is a hood solar panel?Another factor, how long are your usual drives? I’ve killed batteries on several cars with short commutes and errands. I put a hood solar panel on for that, and to offset all the vampire loads from computers, headlight cooling fans, etc. while camping. More things to drain the battery while parked with most new cars. Anecdotally, it feels like newer cars have a bit undersized batteries and alternators that are less amenable to frequent short drives
As for the stop/start, I think it has multiple conditions to activate. Something beyond voltage and engine temp. It often works in less five minutes for me if I’m parked in the sun on a hot day. Cold day with lots of errands, parking out of the sun, maybe half an hour. It’s not consistent enough for it only to be about temp and voltage though.
Oh, and do you have any accessories you plug in while driving? The start/stop turns off if you exceed a certain load on the 12v or 110v outlets
I have a 6/23 build date in my BB. I will check later and look to see if it is an AGM battery. Fingers crossed. ?Ford is aware of the battery issue. I wonder if maybe the '23 and more so the '24 models have or will have upgraded batteries.
I seriously doubt it will be an AGM but at least maybe an upgraded acid battery.I have a 6/23 build date in my BB. I will check later and look to see if it is an AGM battery. Fingers crossed. ?
Yeah, I think they run just to clear condensation, in case you start driving. Hatch glass doesn’t seem to turn them on, not sure about whole hatch or back doorsI just went camping for the first time in my 21 BB for a week and every time I opened a door or something the fans would run for 10 minutes. I think you're right. I don't see anything that says AGM. Cheapo Lead Acid. As long as I get till the warranty is up with it I guess I can't complain. Just so I know to set my battery tender correctly.I seriously doubt it will be an AGM but at least maybe an upgraded acid battery.
I posted the same battery numbers in the Mechanical and Maintenance and Servicing forum.I think you're right. I don't see anything that says AGM. Cheapo Lead Acid. As long as I get till the warranty is up with it I guess I can't complain. Just so I know to set my battery tender correctly.

Too bad they aren't available! When I open the hatch glass or the hatch the fans go on. Such a crazy design.Yeah, I think they run just to clear condensation, in case you start driving. Hatch glass doesn’t seem to turn them on, not sure about whole hatch or back doors
My solar setup is just a cheap 50w semi-flexible panel on a hood vinyl.

if I've read other responder's comments correctly, you basically contact the dealership's Service department, and tell them to have me bring my car in.Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Bronco concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
Oh, maybe I just wasn’t hearing them from back there. I know it doesn’t turn on the bronco rock animation on the screen.Too bad they aren't available! When I open the hatch glass or the hatch the fans go on. Such a crazy design.
@biglarrr You guessed pretty good, it can be a software programming error (this was stated by several Ford techs and a Ford dealership parts dept person) but is a software timing error. So yes a software bug is one of several reasons the Deep Sleep mode message pops up (there can of course be a real issue with the battery and or electrical system). As it’s been stated, “deep sleep glitch: all it takes is for 1 module to not respond fast enough causing the vehicle to think the battery is not working correctly”. In my opinion this is not likely going to be fixed by Ford because if you google the issue it has been ongoing for many years across many different Ford vehicles not just the Bronco Sport.... It's pretty obvious to me that it's not the battery. It's something in the programming - probably hardcoded - since if it was as simple as a software update, it probably would have been done by now.
Yes .. it is needed …… The other thing I have found strange is …the dealership claimed they needed to reset the electronics in order to function properly with start/stop and other new age features
Not sure if anyone has talked about that, or if it’s even needed on the Bronco sport. I hope the issue gets fixed good luck to you.
