They're easy to find. I thought it was going to be a long shot, but there was at least twenty listings.
I got a wheel for $180 local shop put new matching sized tire on, and pressure sensor for $135. Not much for peace of mind, if you ever need it.
I've had the original full size spare for sale...
Soooo - I'm not sure how this thread got converted to a Auto Stop/Start debate.
I use mine, or I don't use it. The Auto Stop/Start has "Zero" to do with the battery issue.
"BUT" - it is a symptom, and it's the earliest indicator that the battery is losing charge.
It's the sneeze that indicates...
I'm glad to hear that you resolved your issue with a non-Ford replacement battery.
I've been tempted to do exactly that, but I haven't had a completely dead battery yet, so I've been hesitating.
Based on other responder's experiences (other than yours), I'm on the fence about whether a...
WOW ! ! ! Well - I did have a comment that decided to disappear just before I posted it, so I guess I'll just condense it and say. It's been fifty years since I charged a battery with the negative clamp directly on the battery post. I've been driving for almost sixty years, and I did that once...
Put your pointer finger on your forehead over your left eye, and say ARRRRRR, ARRRRRR, ARRRRRR - Thar she blows. Count to 37 in exactly 37 seconds, and then lock and unlock your doors once.
Note: Do not lock them a second time or you will have to wait 24 hours before trying again.
if I've read other responder's comments correctly, you basically contact the dealership's Service department, and tell them to have me bring my car in.
i also get the impression, as you would also if you read these forums that Ford considers this a minor annoyance, and will replace the battery...
My BSOB is exactly the way it came from the factory. I haven't added anything to it. For awhile after the issue occurred, I plugged a battery voltage monitor into the accessory port on the dash, but other than that - nothing.
I've gone through the entire options menu, and turned off everything...
Thank You for responding. I can do that. I'm basically doing that now, with a standard AGM charger, that goes to a maintenance status when battery is fully charged, but it's a band-aid fix.
OK - I'm 73 years old, and owned over a dozen cars previous to this one, and my last car was a 2014...
Some of you may have seen my battery issue post from a few months ago. I actually quit this forum because of the non-supportive remarks.
.I've either got a one of a kind electrical issue, or a known issue that people just don't know or care about.
i don't put a lot of miles on my BSOB. after...
I'm not going to bother quoting your fairy tale comments that are more far fetched than any facts, or conclusions I've drawn.
17 recalls in just two model years with everything from worker hammering on the wrong parts because they could make them fit, to differentials without grease, and of...
And this is the most relevant reason I started this discussion. I bought My BSOB because I wanted a great vehicle that I could take on a trip without undue worry. Of course there's always the possibility of a flat tire, or a fender bender, or any number of incidents that could happen no matter...
First of all, I hope you can purchase these from Ford. If not, can you please tell me where to get them.
Then - my answer is "Bronze Smoke". The first thing I would do would be to paint them to match my BSOB.
The white letters are the one thing I've never liked about my BSOB's appearance...
You said you just needed a hitch. I looked into buying one and doing it myself. It's a crazy amount of work. There are hitches available, but you have to really tear into the rear-end to install one. Watch a YouTube video. It can be done, but at 73 yrs. old I decided to find a BSOB with the...
I'm not sure if you're thinking aftermarket, but if you go to YouTube, you'll find it's a miserable installation.
You have to almost remove the entire rear-end and cut clearance from the heat guard for the catalytic converter. I decided to find one factory installed.
OK - I know this sounds a little nutty, but I bought my BSOB because I fell in love with it at first sight. I probably spend more time shining it up and otherwise making it look pretty, than I do driving it. It stays in the garage on rainy days. It will probably never go off road unless the GPS...
Yeap - that's exactly what the parts guy told me.
Interestingly - I had my BS in for an oil change in January, and the Service writer said he was creating a workorder for my recall, and I would be notified when they got the parts.
In March I got snail mail (probably the same one you got) that...
Was the hood scoop functional, besides eliminating the glare? ?
I'm asking because of the Fuel injector recall. When I open the hood on my BS, it amazes me how hot the engine compartment is. I keep wondering if the injector failures might be heat related.
Oh - and do you have a part...
Nah - I'm actually giving minimal consideration to taking the advice of the Service Manager I talked to.
Put the voltmeter away and enjoy driving it for awhile.
I don't know if I can let it go.
Pray for me. No Don't. You could bet me a quarter though.
I know this isn't really a fix, but if it was me, I'd rub some wax that dries to a haze on the offending section, and leave it there. You can always wipe it off if you want to.
It's Drama time ! ! You know I got an A in Drama Class. OK - Here goes.
IT - IS - A - MIRACLE
So - the Voltage meter says my BS is back to normal.
Readings were between 14.6 and 14.8 on a twenty mile drive we took today.
A -N-D I'm pretty sure I know why I was seeing the 12.9
There's...
