I loved my '88 Bronco II manual transmission. I would have kept it if the floor under the windshield wipers didn't rust out. Traded it in for a '98 Explorer Sport 2dr manual, then traded that in for a '99 Merc Mountaineer as our family continued to grow in numbers. Can't wait for delivery of the new BS BB.
That’s hilarious my wife and I bought a used 97 mercury mountaineer right after we got married like 2004 or 05. What a coincidence lol. You won’t be disappointed with the sport. Love mine even more than I thought I would!

Just curious about the age and gender demographics of current owners. Most importantly, regardless of who pays for it, who claims "it's mine" and drives it the majority of the time. I've been seeing a lot of female drivers, both young and older driving BS's in San Diego, way more than male drivers. I'm having that mid-life crisis at 40 on whether or not the BS is going to be my 'manly' car. You know how it is when you drive a 2011 Honda CR-V (this guy) and 90% of other drivers you see in the same car are double your age and/or the opposite gender. Those that have been here, know what I'm feeling. The majority of guys I know do not want to be seen in the soccer mom van, Prius, smart car, VW beetle, Kia soul, etc. Before anyone says it, I have no desire for the big Bronco, nor need to spend that much for a car that I will never use to its full capability. Also, yes a truck is a way to go, but I don't have a desire to haul around hot air 99% of the time. Crossovers or mid-size SUVs are my sweet spot. I have a BS BL on order (no production date) but am also looking at the new Mazda CX-50. Thank you for your responses in advance.
18 year old male, about to graduate high school and take the BS Badlands off to college. (I am not an 18 year old male...bought the car for my son after extensive comparison shopping to about everything on the road remotely similar).

If you google the Land Rover, I forget the model, you’ll see Ford copied much from The British make. The side fake air outlets and the grill shape and many other touches, little things all over the inside and outside,
The BS stands apart from all the stuff from across the pacific that all looks alike to me and all way way overdue for retooling, making new engines. All they are doing is body part changes.
I've also thought that somebody was looking at Land Rover when the BS was designed. And that is a good thing. The angles of the front and rear bumpers are far more than just design elements: They are extremely practical for steep inclines/declines. I considered buying the new Land Rover Defender a year or so ago. I see plenty of design elements between the Defender and the BS.

It's the wife's baby Bronco. We're in our low 50s, empty nesters, and "Blucifer" replaced a 2010 Prius. We had been checking out the Escape PHEV (hate the styling of the RAV4 Prime, so we went across the street to the Ford dealer), but she saw the Bronco Sport and was intrigued. About ten days later and it was ours.

She adores it, the first car she picked out 100% by herself (I never had a heavy hand in the past, she just wasn't as into car shopping). I certainly like it too - enough that I plan on ordering a platform-mate Maverick Hybrid XLT when the 2023 order window opens in the late summer.

Hi Chris! Congratulations to you and your wife on your Bronco Sport purchase. We hope she's enjoying being out on the road or rather, off it!:)

Thanks @Ford. It's the first "domestic" we've ever purchased new, and only the second we've had period (out of 25 vehicles). The other one is a very basic '03 F-150 I bought quite cheaply from my employer a couple of years ago.

It's quite the conquest for your brand, as we've primarily had cars from VW, Subaru, Mercedes-Benz, and SAAB.

Bringing back an older thread. I will be 68 this month and this BS Badlands I have on order will be my wife's vehicle that she and I will both drive. She still works so it will be used for her transportation to and from her work and when she wants to go to the store with her friends. She like me to drive when we go different places and out of town so she can relax and sight see! We will be trading in a newer Explorer XLT for the Bronco Sport. I have a 2022 Ford Ranger Tremor that I normally only drive. I really could care less who else buys and drives other Bronco Sports. We buy our vehicles and motorcycles because we like them, not to impress others. If I have to buy a vehicle to impress another person, then they damn well better be buying it for me!

54 Male, owner and operator exclusively as my daily driver. Wife has a jeep, kids have their "college cars". Nostalgia made the choice for me. It's a versatile fuel efficient SUV and does all I need it to do at a reasonable price. Been a great purchase as I cross 15K miles and relative maintenance. One of the best vehicles I've owned from a practical sense.

43 M - Bought it because of the following reasons:

1. I **LOVE** Velocity Blue
2. I own a C7 Corvette in Laguna Blue that's wrapped, I will wrap my Bronco Sport the same way.
3. I needed a winter vehicle for the snow days and this looks like a winner.
4. I wanted something rugged that wasn't a damn Jeep which gets like 1MPG
5. I love the Bronco Sport name and although I am a Chevy guy, I can be okay with Ford
6. I love the trunk space and the rear window which opens on its own
7. I can easily carry all of my real estate equipment in the trunk and access it easily
8. I love the variety of modifications that can be done (e.g. Lift Kit, Awnings, Nudge Bar, etc)

I’m 29, so is the wife, no kids yet but looking to change that eventually.

Went from Mustang to Focus when wife bought a Challenger, and went Focus to Bronco Sport when a Kia Soul assassinated the Focus. We were initially interested in the Maverick till the Focus was totaled and we were given a Nissan Rogue as a rental. Fell in love with the utility of a CUV, but most of them look the same and the BS stands out from the crowd.

Went with the Badlands so we could have something to play with our Baja-bug when she's feeling better and drag it home if we needed to.

The BS my Daily, but the wife steals her from time to time. We both love it and ordering it in Velocity Blue without seeing it in person was worth the risk

we have escape currently for wife, she will get the edge when bronco comes in (2023) but i see low-lifes driving escapes and/or "soccer" moms if you want to call them that. (yes we have a boy who is playing soccer)
ill be driving the bronco sport...manly or not its what i wanted. i like the looks. been driving escapes since 2001 so doesnt matter to me.
i just wish they would have the ST version in a BS so i can get the ecoboost v6 in my bronco!
my Edge ST gets up and goes! (i foresee my wife getting speeding tickets when she switches over)

Hmmm...right-sized roominess, comfort, convenience, fuel-efficiency, decent performance -- you're already there looking at a compact crossover. But that image is not anything to distinguish your "manliness" from all of the females and older folks also driving compact crossovers. My wife drives a newer CR-V -- it's a great vehicle on almost every measure, but the power/drivetrain, ride height, etc. -- and styling are just not for me. My BS/BL/BL has "more," plus a little more utility for me. Even though actually, the CR-V has just a little bit more interior and cargo room, and is more comfortable. Just buy what you want and forget about "image" -- I've been there and done that, and I'm over it.

As a 65+'r, I wanted something with a little more room and style so when my wife got interested in a Bronco Sport we jumped at the chance to get a BS OB that someone else decided to take a pass on. So far we are extremely impressed with the little 1.5T in it's ability to get up a go. Now that gas is at a premium, it doesn't hurt as much to get the kayaks and bikes out to the water and trails.
Enjoy your ride!

Ram 1500 ordered '23 sport
I'm 38, wife is 32. No kids. I ordered a Maverick and the wife fell in love with the Sport. Her old late 90's blazer is a pile of crap I'm tired of fixing so decided to get her something while I was at it. Looked at a few options but ultimately she really wanted the Sport. Probably use it for mostly all of our going to town trips unless it necessitates a pickup bed. Mostly she'll be the primary driver though. Probably any road trips as well to save miles in the work pickup (Ram now, Maverick if it ever shows up).
