A 1968 Bronco Sport - note the fender badges! I think they are a great retro look, however could clash with other, modern style cues. I don't think it would look right, next to the Badlands (or other) badge on the door (this add-on badge going on the fender). Our fender area for this is also a...
AGM is a lead-acid battery of a newer, more efficient design. Generally speaking they are more robust in about every way, but a conventional battery should work fine for the 3-5 years to be expected of it. And they are cheaper.
What's a "modern" vehicle? What does "required" mean? My 2018 CR-V and 2021 Badlands must be in this other 10%because both came with a conventional battery. AGM is still lead-acid BTW, but it is a more efficient design.
And as somebody might ask or be thinking about it, the 1" in additional diameter of course adds just 1/2 inch in ride height (and of course also subtracts 1/2" from the tire clearance).
The front camera has 2 different views -- a wide and 'normal' view, i.e. looking out over the front edge and corners of the front bumper. You select these from the menu button in the upper left corner of the the "infotainment" screen when the front camera is ON.
You drive around at 77mph with the inclinometer screen? I use it to level out my RTT (camping, not going down the road!), but could also use it "rock crawling" off-road. Hmmm...at that speed I guess the banking in the turns could be useful infinfo...! 😉
Absorbed Glass Mat; essentially they pack more and denser battery internal components closer together (the electrodes are wrapped in electroyte-soaked glass) for higher efficiency both daily and over the long term. AGM is a good battery. "Conventional" batteries are OK too.
I will say, rotate them as recommended. I rotated them late and now have a noisy wear pattern in them that will probably take 10,000 mi. to go away. It's weird because it comes and goes (the noise) -- so it might be something else wrong with them.
AGM is a lead acid battery, BTW. My non-AGM in my BL using auto start/stop over the past 2 1/2 years has presented no issues nor any sign of performance different from new.
AGM is of course a newer (not "new") design, but is still a lead acid battery. My BL built December 2020 has the conventional 700A battery. I don't think I've ever replaced one without noticing degraded performance first, but replacement is normal to expect after a time. But, you can spend more...
The Badlands/FE (i.e. w/2.0L engine) has a liquid-cooled, PTU, doesn't it? So the step ""just remove the cooler first to gain access (to the PTU drain/fill holes)" must add some complexity? I'm also not so sure it doesn't have the older PTU without the shift fork and gears he describes?
I dont recall what Mud and Ruts does exactly, but you don't have that mode either. That would have been the other, Badlands-available mode I'd have tried.
The stubby antennas are cute -- I bought one -- but, it dramatically reduced my radio reception (range). I keep it in the glovebox (I suppose I might use it if stock interferes with anything else mounted on the roof). The 'cool factor' just isn't, really; you own your Sport for 5 mins. and don't...
I can't believe the mirrors would fold themselves just sitting in traffic!...?
I can't believe the mirrors would fold themselves when stopped in traffic!...? Of that it would even be considered safe to fold and unfold manually in traffic! But, I might suspect tight alleys or parking spaces...
Mine has had extended use on longer road trips -- both using Ford navigation and radio, satellite, etc. features, and using Adroid Auto. Never any heat issue with the system/screen. However one of the 1st things I did with it was set the display to night mode always. The day mode/colors are way...
I've use trail control on dirt/gravel roads and camp roads -- works great. Even more popular campgrounds where the limit is 5 or 10 MPH, an easy way to crawl your way through. But yes, slow climbs or descents on dirt/gravel, it's pretty neat. Pretty sure the noise your hearing is braking...
SLIPPERY is the WRONG mode for this -- of the available, Sand mode would have been the best choice. Slippery mode limits power/wheel spin and was the worst choice.
