I have seen so many postings about water pumps failing and it taking weeks to get a replacement water pump. I decided to go ahead and order one to have on hand, when/if mine fails. Fairly cheap insurance. Ordered it from ford.oempartsonline.com That way I won't be paying for a rental car while my BB is waiting for this part. If it fails under warranty, I will still be ahead due to not having to rent a car.

HX7Z-8501-BPump Assembly Water$57.951$57.95
GN1Z-8507-BWater Pump Assembly Gasket$10.871$10.87

Subtotal: $68.82
Estimated Shipping to 23452 via Economy Shipping: $8.50

Total: $81.46

Exactly what I would do if I had the 1.5L.

With all the "hard to get" parts that members have reported here as of late, a person can go broke ordering and stocking there own personal stash of parts, should one fail.

I gotta say, with all the forums I've been a member of based on various vehicles I've owned, this BS forum is the first where folks have bought engine covers, hood insulators, under dash covers, rear window defrost wire cap protectors, and now water pumps in fear of a future potential failure, or because Ford left them out and think they are needed.

Maybe I'm different, but my philosophy is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. We got a warranty. Let the dealer handle it.

I thought it was a highway.

Better song to have stuck in my head then the Barry Manilow song that Mark brought up on a different thread.

Update. It was a faulty water pump causing coolant level to be low. @Ford Motor Company is there no recall on this? Seems like a common issue...also is there no low coolant sensor? I noticed it, but what if the coolant continued to leak, shouldn't it have a sensor to notify user

The only “sensor” it has is the one where owners pop the hood every week and look at the coolant level themselves. Unless you count the case where the heater stops blowing hot air or the engine overheats from insufficient coolant.

Yeah, glad I checked when filling washer fluids the other day. Hopefully this new pump prevents future issues.
