    fjbear!, there are a lot of posts about water pump problems on the 1.5L engine. Not everyone has the problem but a lot do. I would suggest to just keep an eye on the coolant level in your reservoir tank. If you see a significant drop or have to keep adding coolant, you might get it checked out.

    Just a Google inquiry. General opinion is a 1-3% reduction in MPG. As you say, well worth it if it cuts down on the bug splatter.
