Another option:

Ford and/or our dealer gave us the Curt shackle hitch receiver that they sell, "Part No: VLL3Z19A282A":

In our case, it was free because it is meant to replace the towing eye which cannot be used when the factory hitch is installed.

We picked it up at the dealership a few days ago.

For more info:

It was $38 at Amazon last I saw. Make sure you're looking at the 2" unit (not 2-1/2).

It never seems to amaze me how people think Ford should supply everything someone might need for every situation that might arise . Maybe they should supply a fully equipped recover tow truck with every vehicle .

I also can't believe someone would have an issue with a screw in hook thats missing, when they have a Tow Package installed , which is a million times better/stronger then that little screw in Eyelet !

A BS with the tow package does not even have the cutout in the bumper cover for the tow hook, so they could not even use one. So I believe that all those looking for the missing rear tow hook (actually an eye) do not have the tow package.

Our 2021 BS has the cut out , but nothing behind it, with Tow package . I just looked & didn't see any threaded socket to screw an Eyelet into .

The rear metal bumper plate that mounts into the rear frame rails has a threaded spot for the eye hook.
That bumper plate gets removed because the hitch mounts into the frame rail ends. Ford will give you the eye hook if you didn’t get one on your BS without a hitch package.
Or stop being cheap and just buy a receiver recovery point.

That's exactly right.

Bronco Sports without the tow package have a threaded hole to accept a towing eye.

Bronco Sports with the tow package do not. They have no rear recovery point (chain loops are not strong enough).

Ford seems to think that having a recovery point is important. The manual says, "You must carry the towing eye in your vehicle at all times."

This is what I have.
It seems decent -- certainly better than the tow eye it replaces.

Curt has a good name, but this piece is made in China, not the USA, as is the case with almost everything else they sell. I imagine Curt is doing good QA to protect their reputation though, and if it is anywhere near as strong as claimed (13,000 pounds) it's definitely not the weak link.

A plus is it is some added defense to anyone who follows the Kramer method of parking

Since there didn’t seem to be any specific part numbers listed for a BS rear tow hook, I took a chance on this one (6M2Z-17A954–A) listed on Amazon. It seemed to fit various years of Escapes and Transits but no mention of Bronco Sports. I learned the other day that Ford doesn’t list parts that fit your vehicle but rather parts that came with your vehicle. I gather no one’s BS came with a rear hook therefore one doesn’t show in the parts list. This will be tucked away for emergency use in the spare tire area along with a strap. Cost around $35 but I bought a “used” one for $26 and free shipping which wasn’t used but the box was damaged. Very good week with hood struts and insulator hood pad added as well.

Thanks for sharing, just ordered one. Seems a real oversight that Ford did not include this AND did not include any front recovery points in the lower trims. I
