Rear tow hook

Since there didn’t seem to be any specific part numbers listed for a BS rear tow hook, I took a chance on this one (6M2Z-17A954–A) listed on Amazon. It seemed to fit various years of Escapes and Transits but no mention of Bronco Sports. I learned the other day that Ford doesn’t list parts that fit your vehicle but rather parts that came with your vehicle. I gather no one’s BS came with a rear hook therefore one doesn’t show in the parts list. This will be tucked away for emergency use in the spare tire area along with a strap. Cost around $35 but I bought a “used” one for $26 and free shipping which wasn’t used but the box was damaged. Very good week with hood struts and insulator hood pad added as well.

Are you sure Ford did not include one with the spare tire ? Most vehicles have such a tow hook stored with the spare tire.
Personally I have a trailer hitch mounted tow hook ( yes I used it 3x )

And move it to each of my three vehicles as needed.

I've walked into a hitch and it was not fun. I thought my leg was broken.
It was a truck that was backed up to the sidewalk. I didn't see the hitch as I carrying a large bag full of gear.
It was sticking out pretty far from the truck for me to walk into it. I couldn't see what the hitch setup was through the tears.

One good whack to the shin would likely cure you of that idea!

luckily it doesn't stick out nearly as far as a ball hitch and most of the edges are rounded.
Personally one shin wack long ago cured me of ignoring the shin hitch relationship, there was blood and limping involved.
I would recommend anyone "sporting" this type hook full time to Red Loctite the shackle bolt.

I don't see any way to thread the bolt in (picture attached). All I see is an empty hole in there. I wonder if that's Badlands or tow package specific. Could somebody compare and confirm please?

If you have a tow package just get a "D"-ring shackle hitch for the back. Curt and harbor freight have them for around $30 and keep it with the spare it fits if you unscrew the shackel ??

I have a Big Bend with tow package. No place to thread in a tow hook on mine.

I really don't care because mine came with the highly coveted engine cover. ?

After taking another look, the frame for the receiver is right behind that cover. (Shown by arrows in pic). It looks like if you have the tow package, that threaded hole won’t be there for the tow hook. Anyone without tow package not have the hole?
