Really no way to prove that it happened randomly. I sell capital equipment for a living and when these outliers occur, even though i trust the doctors account of what happened, there really is no recourse. It's unfortunate but it is the truth of the matter.

True. At that point, it’s a question of how bad do you want to keep that customer. I have honored an expired warranty many times when a valued customer insisted that it was a manufacturing issue. Right now, I do not feel valued.

“explosion“ ?

Aaaanyway …that looks defective. No rock or lightning or thermal shock caused that. Ford should cover. Go to another dealer?

You sit in that car when it happens and tell me what word you would use.

Keep pushing for a warranty resolution until they block your phone #.

I'm sure it was crazy loud in the BS. Heck, about 3 weeks in to ownership of my BS, i had an acorn fall out of a tree while i was driving. It hit the roof a few inches above the windshield, just as it curves into the flat portion of the roof. Talk about LOUD and startling! Of course, it put a small ding in the roof as well. So that was nice. Again, good luck with the moonroof.

Exactly why I didn’t want a moon roof
Yep, I've had a moonroof on my last many vehicles and my wife's HR-V has one. We never have used it. we like quiet when we drive. No open windows either.

Some 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles built on or before 07-Nov-2022 may exhibit a squeak/rattle/creak noise from the roof opening panel when the glass is closed or in vent position while driving on uneven highways. This may be due to roof opening panel bolts not being properly secured. To correct this condition, confirm that the bolts on each side of the moon roof are properly tightened. If the bolts are not properly tightened, tighten the bolts. Refer to the Workshop Manual Section (WSM), Section 501-17 Roof Opening Panel Glass > Removal and Installation.
Wondering if there's any chance loose bolts could lead to vibration/movement over time and thus failure of the moonroof glass?...

While an object kicked up by another vehicle can travel quite far considering the speeds the vehicles are moving, that does not look like it was caused by an object striking it. There isn't an obvious impact point. It almost appears that tension on the frame caused it. Flexing perhaps?
