Moonroof exploded

Just driving down the highway and my moonroof exploded. Broken all the way around the perimeter. Nothing hit it. Of course, Ford refuses to cover it under warranty (18,000 miles, 11 months old).
Anybody had this happen?

I get your frustration.... But if you have glass coverage, that should do it.... in lots of states there is a zero deductible.

Sure, my insurance will cover it, but it shouldn’t have to.

Found this as well..... i'd check on the recall... https://getjerry.com/insights/recall-alert-ford-bronco-sport-faces-moonroof-issues Looks to be a pretty small number affected, but might be an arguing point with the dealer.

I'm pretty sure moonroof is tempered. More than likely a rock from a passing vehicle or from one ahead hit it. It doesn't take much to shatter the temper glass into a million pieces.

it is tempered and not laminated correct?

I had a side lite (passenger window) explode on my Lexus during a lightning storm. The lightning flash and the window breaking was simultaneous but I'm pretty sure it was the lightning hitting something near by that threw a rock. It just takes a very small tap wit ha sharp object. It's one of the reasons they are starting to laminate the side lites as it's too easy to break them and get into the vehicle when it isn't your to get into.
