I recalled this being a poblem with some 3rd Gen Escapes.

Just driving down the highway and my moonroof exploded. Broken all the way around the perimeter. Nothing hit it. Of course, Ford refuses to cover it under warranty (18,000 miles, 11 months old).
Anybody had this happen?

Hello. Wondering if you ever ended up getting Ford to cover the moonroof exploding? I just I just had this happen last week on my 2024 Ford Bronco Sport Outerbanks. They are saying that they do not think Ford will warranty it. I am a 11,000 miles.

Generally speaking, dealers and mfrs (not just Ford) try very hard to weasel out of paying for repairs.

To be fair, sometimes the repair is not their responsibility, but when it is, they have a long list of reasons why they won't cover it.

For example, modifications -- even minor ones that obviously have nothing to do with the failure.

Or 'abuse'.

Or aftermarket parts.

In this case, they might say the exploded moonroof was caused by an asteroid hitting it.
