Does Canada still allow the fog lights to be used as DRL? If so, could those be hard wired? Or an add on set of lights be added and wired to the ignition?
I am not sure on that one, and I can't remember if fog lights were a option in my truck when I was in there with forscan.
I would lean towards saying no, unless designed for that purpose by the manufacture

Canada did allow manufacturers to use the fog lights as auto on DRLs. Not sure if they still do or not though. It was not a great technique as they aren't as noticeable as headlights or turn signals, or dedicated DRLs.
If they are still allowed, there might be a way for a Canadian dealer to install whatever the control is to have them turn on if Ford did happen to use them as DRLs there. Not likely, but it's a small possibility.

If not, then the only real option I can think of would be to install stand alone DRLs that meet the CfA specs... if allowed at all.

As stated on OPs related post regarding importing a USA Bronco Sport into Canada and getting the Canadian inspection passed, “…provided you with a few options including checking with Canadian auto importers for the solutions they have used”

post #2 and #3:

OP hasn’t been on awhile, presumably has a solution by now perhaps, shows on this Forum as Last seen Jun 24, 2025

I can’t imagine that a major manufacturing deviation is required to build a Canadian version Bronco sport vs US version. The DRLs are likely controlled by a Canada - specific module. Contact Ford of Canada’s head office in Oakville and explain the issue, I’m sure they will help.

Dude, I understand that it is my responsibility. I was looking for some help on how to get the vehicle to comply. I took it to a Ford dealer who said they cant program it. What's the point of the forum, if it's not to seek help and support each other?
Did you figure this out? If you can get me the VIN of a Bronco Sport built for Canada, I can compare the a/b data in the sections of the BCM that control the DRL's. I don't think it would be too difficult to figure it out.

if what you said it true in that thread about the headlight module then you should be able to get that flashed when you import a car and it will be compliant, but is that one that can be done by forscan if you know the right code lines?

I found no verified info on use of FORScan and as far as what I can find the canadian headlamp module is a different engineering part number but that could mean just a software change or could be both different hardware and software

I did post this FORScan info in the 2nd thread from OP but it’s not verified
https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/forscan-check.16270/post-256711

I don’t have access to Ford’s Engineering part number system - a dealership with a Canadian VIN can look up the Engineering part number (I already can see the service part # is the same across many US and Canadian models but Engineering Part #s contain the details)

@rugedraw did post above asking for OPs VIN (which is a US Model) to compare with the VIN of a Canadian model

@rugedraw here are 2022 Bronco Sport Badlands VINs, Canadian and US

OP has a US 2022 Badlands

These VINs are open info posted on the internet but should provide info to do the compare you offered using this VIN info:

Thanks, but I did that to see what interest he had in getting his issue resolved. If he was not willing to take a minute to find me a VIN, then I wasn't going to spend x amount of time trying to figure it out for him. He apparently ghosted his post, so either he figured it out or decided to go a different route to resolve his issue. We've helped plenty of folks from there Canadize their imported trucks over on the F150 forum. First thing he needs to do is change the country code in the APIM, IPC and TCU from 5553 to 4341 in these locations:

Ford Bronco Sport Daytime Running Lights 1753200253899-ac

Ford Bronco Sport Daytime Running Lights 1753200271422-ya

Ford Bronco Sport Daytime Running Lights 1753200316432-

If he comes back, I'd be happy to try and help him out.

Btw, I have FDRS and PTS access. If you (or anyone) ever need anything, lmk. I cannot run the VIN of a vehicle outside the US market without Ford banning my FDRS account, but for US vehicles, I can get pretty much anything. Part numbers, files, wiring diagrams, DTC's, warranty history, recalls, OTA history (if applicable), pending module updates, etc.

Thanks!!

I always wanted to get a list of all module software/firmware to know the latest versions for my 2022 US Badlands but after awhile I realized I don’t need that info as having it would not do me any good - and unlike a phone you really don’t want to be updating a vehicles software/firmware unless really necessary (like for Sync 3.4 and the odd recall that touches things like BCM/PCM software and in that case is best to let a dealership tech do that)

So … I don’t need anything at the current time however I appreciate your offer to the group!
