Let's face it, if money were no object we would all have six cars. One for the daily grocery getter; one for those long highway drives; one for the summer evening boulevard cruises; one for off road adventuring; one just for the spousal unit; and one for a long-term garage project.

Man, I'll tell ya! The other day I saw some woman driving with her elbows while holding a phone in one hand and applying mascara with the other. She was scootched all the way forward so she could use her rearview. Got me so worked up I dropped my electric shaver in my coffee and spilled it all over my donuts!
I'll one up ya. Once, while driving through Colorado, I hit Denver during morning rush hour. A woman in the car in the lane next to me was putting on her pantyhose while driving about 40 mph. I gotta admit, that took some skill LOL.

Heck, these days you don’t know how a wave will be interpreted. Im even cautious when raising my finger when opening my sunroof - in case someone behind me thinks I’m giving them the finger !
Ah - that was YOU! You'd better be thankful you're a couple of thousand miles from me now...

“Bronco” vs “Bronco Sport” ?!

my fellow Bronco owners definitely wave at me…

…the BS is just an econobox, lots of them out there, most people don’t care
You'll feel differently once you're the 51st state.?

Don’t take it personally. Based on the forum it would appear that the Sport owners are mostly serious old men who keep both hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road. We just didn’t see your wave. If we noticed your Sport we were trying to spot your model badge to judge you.
Serious old men drive Lincoln Navigators. Smart one's drive a BS.

On a more serious note, I'm surprised a bit that Ford is planning on discontinuing the Escape. IMO, it's not a good substitute for those looking for a family car for a small family (Mom, Dad, and a couple rugrats, and maybe needing space for a rear facing child seat).

Reason: rear legroom. In the 4th Gen Escape it is listed as 40.7 and only 36.9 in the Bronco Sport. That's enough of a squeeze for potential crossover buyers to skip the Bronco Sport once the Escape is discontinued, and move on to Subaru's, Toyota, Honda small Utes/crossovers.

I don’t initiate waves but I will return one.
I spot other Sports and I’m ready to return that wave. Usually though, they’re in their own world, occasionally one of them will notice my wheels.
No waves yet.

Same experience here. I belong to the Sport forum (I had a 2024 Sport Big Bend, and my son has a 2023 BS Outer Banks) and I don't think this topic ever comes up. Perhaps it never crosses their minds. If one watches the Off-Rodeo videos, Ford presents these two (very different) vehicles side by side, with drivers co-existing in peace and harmony, but I'm not seeing that Sport drivers even care. Hard telling what's going on inside their noodles.

I don't understand the Escape thing either. I'm guessing that its replacement will be a hybrid or PHEV of some kind or, maybe even a full electric. From what little I've read, it won't look like today's Escape. Perhaps they'll get the rear seats to slide in the BS like its current platform siblings. Either way, the BS has more of a legacy (i.e., classic) SUV look - something that "car lovers" may not like.

It's my understanding that the Bronco Sport will serve as the replacement for the Escape (at least for now). I have a '23 Escape ST-Line. Overall there is a lot less room in it than the boxy little BS Sport. Headroom and legroom up front is far, far better in the Bronco Sport than in the Escape. But the Escape is a nice little jellybean car and is made in the USA. It's quiet and refined for what it is, and it has the MPC 1.5L. Perfect for my wife.

In my area I don't see a lot of Bronco owners, the couple I did see in town, I waved at, nothing, no response.
So are Bronco owners stuck up, I would think not, on the occasion that I see them, I will continue to wave.
I would be to busy trying to figure out who the freak in the car is that is waving at me to worry about waving back.
