So I hang out with the local jeep camping club locally and some trips require 30+ inch tires to participate. So I went with 235/75r17s on my 22 badlands (lifted 1.5 , though lifting won’t effect max tire size). There is very slight rubbing at full lock (and I don’t like to drive there) so I’m not concerned. The factory 235’s were at 3/32’s and I got a great deal on the hankook

The AWD system is quite capable particularly when I lock it in so im not terribly concerned about my lack of true 4x4. I also am more comfortable being the only body on frame vehicle in the bunch. Plus im also the only person who can get 25MPG on the trips.
Photos for how well.
Photos for evidence.

Can you explain down to me what you mean by "very slight rubbing at full lock". I'm guessing this is not a going for the Prosecco room vs. Champagne room reference.

Careful. The pinch weld is right against the felt liner. Could cut your tires.

Thanks. What modifications would be needed to prevent the rubbing?

I plan on cutting slits like this and hammering it over flat. Then have the area sprayed with line-x bed liner.

Thanks, do you think a 245/75/R17 would fit with that modification? Assuming 1.5" lift as well.

I have 245 65R 17's on my Badlands and they will kiss the front wheel well liners at full lock with the suspension compressed, I do not have a lift.
With 235 75R 17 tires, the diameter is almost 31 inches, I would imagine that they would rub fairly easily off-road if you really get the suspension moving.
Becareful, you don't damage your tires or tearup the wheel well liners to badly.

235/70R17 or 245/65R17 won't rub on a stock BS BL or FE
235/75 is way too big

I have 235/70 and they are great but thought about 245/70 for my next tire just to get some width as well but will definitely have to cut the pinch weld to accommodate for that tire size.
