For the life of me, I can't understand why, when Ford became aware of these water pump failures, they didn't correct the block cleaning process immediately and thus eliminating this problem once and for all! This has apparently been happening for well over 2 years now. Makes no sense moneywise.

The 6.0 L diesels in the Superdutys had trouble with sand in the cooling system. Clogged oil cooler and caused failure. Bullet Proof Diesel sells a cooling system bypass filter to filter out that stuff. I tore apart the first filter on mine and it was full of a kind of white sludge.
