Maybe. Doesn't work for me. My wife had a 2019 Edge and a 2022 Edge and my Ranger was 2021.Maybe because my truck is older?

Do any of those vehicles have the drivers door pillar keypad?Maybe. Doesn't work for me. My wife had a 2019 Edge and a 2022 Edge and my Ranger was 2021.
Mine does not. Perhaps that's a clue to what's happening here, but I know that my wife's 2019 Edge did have the keypad. TBH, I don't think she/I/we ever tested that.Do any of those vehicles have the drivers door pillar keypad?
On my Bronco Sport, leave the keyfob inside the vehicle, close all doors and simultaneously press the 7•8 and 9•0 buttons on the keypad to Lock All Doors (with keyfob inside the vehicle)
My F150 has a keypad and lets me lock the door with the keys inside. It's a lot less usable without that feature.Do any of those vehicles have the drivers door pillar keypad?

with the key pad there is no issue of locking your keys in the car, you can just punch in the code and get your keys. I just hid them then close the door and hit #8 and #9 at the same time and it locks the door.I was not aware that you could lock your key inside the vehicle. With my wife's two Edges and my Ranger, the door automatically unlocked and I got a double beep warning.
Maybe you can change the default behavior in the Settings? Interesting.
it works with my 2014 F350 with the key pad.Maybe because my truck is older?
works with my wife's 2019 ford edge, but it has the keypad alsoMaybe. Doesn't work for me. My wife had a 2019 Edge and a 2022 Edge and my Ranger was 2021.
So my husband is having a hard time understanding this. So, let's say I drive my 2025 Bronco Sport to the gas station, leave the engine running and leave the fob in the vehicle, go in to buy something and or pay for gas. While in there the car will automatically lock?with the key pad there is no issue of locking your keys in the car, you can just punch in the code and get your keys. There have been a number of owners that stated exactly that - with the car running, leave the keyfob in the vehicle, exit and close the drivers door - they stated the vehicle will eventually lock (mine will beep a couple times)So my husband is having a hard time understanding this. Thanks for that info! Ya, I believe I have mine set to open all doors too! I am going to try out this lock deal as I do have 2 fobs, I'll be able to unlock it, if it locks! I will add, that we found out if your car is running and you have the fob with you a little away or more from the vehicle, if someone tries to drive off with it, they won't be able to turn the dial to drive! That's a nice safety feature!!There have been a number of owners that stated exactly that - with the car running, leave the keyfob in the vehicle, exit and close the drivers door - they stated the vehicle will eventually lock (mine will beep a couple times)
that’s not a documented feature in the ‘22 owners manual but I haven’t looked at a 2025 owners manual for that case
and I never bothered to try it myself
on the other hand, a few other owners posted their vehicle doesn’t do that sort of locking
there are quite a few posts on this topic but probably difficult to search to find them
here’s one link: https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/auto-door-locking-question.14197/post-232499
(BTW There is a setting for lock/unlock only drivers door or lock/unlock all doors - mine is set for all doors)
Yes, that's what I was going to do! My husband thinks they are accidentally hitting the door lock that sticks out some from the door. Our neighbor has an Escape, not sure what the year is, but in the 2000s, anyway she was in a big hurry, through her purse that had her fob and phone in it, shut the door to go in house to get something, came back out and the door was locked. The car was not running. My husband was able to get the car unlocked, but he thinks she accidentally hit the inside lock.Try in your driveway with the 2nd keyfob far enough away that won’t be recognized
if all 4 doors auto lock as described above (which I doubt), you could try the other 3 doors including trying to unlock by touching the door sensor (driver and front passenger door) and if those fail to unlock (which i also doubt), you have the FordPass App and worst case could go get the 2nd keyfob
this topic has been debated a lot on this forum … I think it is the driver when leaving the vehicle is somehow causing the vehicle to lock while engine is running and driver gets out/closes the driver side door
I thought the vehicle should not lock whether engine is on or not. My wife's HR-V won't lock with the fob in it with the engine off. Never tried with engine on.Okay!! So I did my experiment with my 2025 Sport Outer Banks. I left my car running, with my fob and phone in the car for over 5 minutes and my vehicle did not lock!! If you accidentally hit the lock button on the inside door of your vehicle, yes it will lock! Then you would have to use either your other fob, or the key pad, if you have one! Hopefully this helps with all the doubts about it. I'm guessing if the lock on the inside didn't get hit by accident, then there is a glitch and should be checked out and fixed at the dealer!
And I did try it a few days ago with the engine off and still did not lock on its own.I thought the vehicle should not lock whether engine is on or not. My wife's HR-V won't lock with the fob in it with the engine off. Never tried with engine on.
All of my Fords do the double short beep if I step out of the vehicle and shut the car door with the engine running. I experience this regularly when checking the mail (community mailbox) - I stop at the mail box with the motor running, and shut the door - beep, beep. Every time.I thought the vehicle should not lock whether engine is on or not. My wife's HR-V won't lock with the fob in it with the engine off. Never tried with engine on.
