I'm waiting for Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles so I don't have to wait a half hour "filling up" like a battery requires.
You’ll be waiting a long , long time.

I read that over 20% of the people who buy a full EV end up back into an ICE vehicle.
that‘s all?

I thunk it. I have no intention of buying an electric vehicle. If I did, I have the luxury of a garage to charge it overnight. Now picture the millions of vehicles parked curbside bumper to bumper in cities. How are they expected to charge their cars? And no I don't believe global warming is man made. Mars is also warming. Must be all those SUV's the Martians are driving.
truth. Solar cycles are rarely discussed because you can’t make the sun and space weather political but you can withhold data. I’m not suggesting that mankind stop seeking a cleaner way to live on this blue marble hurling through space but let’s be realistic, EV’s were NEVER about that.

No doubt, but I wasn't implying it was going to be any time soon. Just that people are waking up to the con job of "electric" vehicles when there are much better alternatives that didn't get the Democratic support that was shoved down our throats.
100%. they don't want us using public transport and riding bicycles because they can't make record profits from us.

Just another idea that wasn't thought out but made all those envio folks feel good.

Sickening to read that fishwrap MotorTrend the last 18 months, and how they jumped on the bandwagon of EV's. They know it all, just ask them.

Just buy one, you won't be sorry. Everything's great. Another EV is their 2024 SUV of the year.

They haven't seen the light yet. Only a minority of people want them, including me.

So much for the
prognosticators at the car companies. A lot of money wasted.

I'm not against them, just don't force feed me all this happy horse sh!!! I'll make my choice among ICE vehicles.

Off my soapbox.

Not until they make it affordable to the average buyer.
**average buyer without the need of a subsidy.

If a product is really good, the public will buy it. If not it will die.

That's the issue. We've beaten the horse to death here and elsewhere but the infrastructure isn't here, isn't going to be here for a while, and may never arrive. Let alone the fact that fossil fuels and coal are powering your charging station as it is and so on. Hybrids are/were the better option but the envirolobby is diametrically opposed to ANY solution that could use fossil fuels.

Jalopnik, too. Hard to believe that it got worse than it started but...

I know several people that have Tesla’s and love them. They also say the 7500 was a big reason to buy it. I think they have their place, but it’s not to replace all ICE vehicles. I wouldn’t want one as it wouldn’t fit my driving habits but I can see cases where they fit some people lifestyle and habits.

It does not matter to me how good something is, if I can't afford it, I don't buy it.

I know friends with Tesla's but they also have ICE vehicles. EV's are great for some people.

I'm retired and could have an EV for my second vehicle, for local travel, etc.

But I'm not on the bandwagon. Maybe someday, stranger things have happened.

My 2 ICE vehicles are in my garage for quite a while.

Sir, you are not playing along with the heavily promoted crass consumerism that defines our society.

Promptly report to your local financial institution and proceed to take out more debt than you can justifiably pay back or else!

Why don't you care about UAW assembly line worker jobs??

I can't answer that last question with a dignified answer.

That was from data collected in 2021, it could be higher now.

I think an EV can make a lot of sense for a two car household with the luxury of a garage where the EV can charge overnight. The EV would be the vehicle for all of the around town driving. The ICE vehicle would be the one for longer road trips. I agree that the infrastructure is just not going to be there anytime soon for EVs and longer road trips. I also agree that the cost is going to have to come down so that the average two car household can afford the EV.

That's the biggest issue in my mind. Unless you're buying a toy, your second car shouldn't cost more than your primary car. When my kids were still at home the wife got the "reliable" new car and I drove a beater, because that's what we could afford. Ford needs to come back to the real world.

Hydrogen is also the smallest element. Long term storage of Hydrogen is nearly impossible given the energy required to keep it cool, otherwise it'll expand as a gas and risk failure if the fuel cell. Over time, the Hydrogen will diffuse out of almost any container it is in because the atom is the smallest and simplest in the universe and simply passes between the molecular spacing of other elements.

This statement still holds true for my household, even today with the son married amd out of the house.
